Sometimes object cannot be selected.

If the object is purple, then it is locked. Because you cannot select it to unlock it, you must first EDIT - SELECT ALL and then look for the icon tower and the [A]
Click on the [A] and uncheck Unlock in the menu box.

All objects can be selected even when Locked. Press the Tab key (the one with the left and right arrows on it on the left of the keyboard) This wil step through each object, you cant move the locked objects untill you click the "A" in the menu and untick the Locked button.
