Does anyone know which is cheaper, rerecordable cd's, or 250 meg zip disks. I want to back up my poser folders, like the libraries and geometries, now that they are getting really big. I do have all the original zip files they came as, but I can't imagine reinstalling them all if I had a major crash. Therefore, just backing up the folders seems logical to me. Does anyone else do this? Dragontales

CD-R is vastly cheaper media and the hardware has dropped in price. If you stay with this long, and are a bit of a packrat, I believe you'll find keeping the original zips (with a thumbnail with the same filename) to be faster and more efficient. I think that half the stuff I'v downloaded and squirrled away has never even been unzipped. i.e. I haven't needed that car jack I DL'd yet, but you never know!

I wouldn't waste money on re-writable CDs to back up work. The last time I bought CDs, the re-writables were $20 each, and the regular ones were $1 each. Unless you're going to change the CD at least 20 times, the re-writables aren't worth the expense.

ok, this gives me something to think about. Thanks for the ideas. Dragontales (and yes, I am a packrat...lol.)
