I'm in for NO SALES EMAILS FROM THIS SITE.
Why is this now being ignored?

I'll send a note to Admin that the emails are still getting sent, and hopefully they can work it out. Believe me, I know how annoying spam is, it can fill up your inbox until you can't see the real messages anymore. This issue certainly needs solved. In the meantime, every email client out there has the ability to mark and filter spam. One click and your email client will move any of the guzzilion spam coming off the internet straight to your spam box, and you'll never be bothered with it again. I personally use Thunderbird (Linux) and it's pulling from five different email accounts, and I never see spam. Some email clients even have the ability to use a choice of spam filters that are constantly updated, which is a nice service. The one in Thunderbird works so well I haven't had to bother with it, though, Thunderbird doesn't call it spam, they call it junk mail. Maybe they thought the lunch meat, Spam, was getting a bad name and came up with an alternate.
Anyway, we'll see what we can do about this issue, I'll let you know what I hear.

There's an even more simple solution that you can take care of on your own!
Click on your avatar at the top bar, select settings (last option before sign out) at the menu that pops up
Scroll to the very bottom of the new page... make sure you tick the options "receive no newsletter emails" and the option "receive no notifications from the site".
It's a lot faster than waiting for an admin to do that for you! :)

@renapd
Good information to know, but I think what Khai-J-Bach and others are saying is they have those boxes checked, but some glitch is still sending the emails.

Exactly. I'm opted out of all sales emails. Yet I got one.

I finally gave up and deleted my account, then signed up with a temporary email address. I now access the place only through a Tor browser with all scripting turned off. I only enable it temporarily to reply from time to time.

I've filed a complaint with the FTC this evening about the emails that I've been getting for months and continue to get. I gave plenty of warning.
Khai-J-Bach posted Wed, 11 October 2017 at 3:23 AM
Well under the CAN-SPAM act alone the last marketing email I got alone is trouble.
I quote canspam -
Tell recipients how to opt out of receiving future email from you. Your message must include a clear and conspicuous explanation of how the recipient can opt out of getting email from you in the future. Craft the notice in a way that’s easy for an ordinary person to recognize, read, and understand. Creative use of type size, color, and location can improve clarity. Give a return email address or another easy Internet-based way to allow people to communicate their choice to you. You may create a menu to allow a recipient to opt out of certain types of messages, but you must include the option to stop all commercial messages from you. Make sure your spam filter doesn’t block these opt-out requests. Honor opt-out requests promptly. Any opt-out mechanism you offer must be able to process opt-out requests for at least 30 days after you send your message. You must honor a recipient’s opt-out request within 10 business days. You can’t charge a fee, require the recipient to give you any personally identifying information beyond an email address, or make the recipient take any step other than sending a reply email or visiting a single page on an Internet website as a condition for honoring an opt-out request. Once people have told you they don’t want to receive more messages from you, you can’t sell or transfer their email addresses, even in the form of a mailing list. The only exception is that you may transfer the addresses to a company you’ve hired to help you comply with the CAN-SPAM Act.
I now quote in full the email I received.
"Hello.
We have implemented the ability for you to sell your gallery images on Renderosity!
The first step is to look here:
https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/?sales
where you can see any images you have that are currently on the site and in your gallery that are eligible to be sold. Simply review the license information here:
https://www.renderosity.com/gallery-image-licenses-cms-19465
so that you are clear on what you are agreeing to when sales are done BEFORE selecting or submitting images to be sold.
You can also upload NEW images and sell those as well. Please read the upload gallery image page closely for details and instructions.
If you have any questions, send an email to store@renderosity.com for assistance. We are very excited to bring this opportunity to our Artists! We hope you take advantage of this money making oppportunity that is now available for you!!
Have a great weekend!
Jenn & our entire Marketplace Team"
Note the missing opt out message.

@khai-j-bach and @LaurieA. I've manually added the two of you to our do-not-mail-list. Let me ask...Have you been receiving our Wednesday newsletter and our Saturday newsletter or are you speaking of messages like the one that khai-j-bach quotes above from JennB?
Please feel free to write me directly at marketing@renderosity.com if this problem persists and I'll get it taken care of.

I have boxes checked no but am still getting the emails. This is a problem that needs to be solved completely, just solving for individuals that complain isn't really a solution.
DreaminGirl posted Sat, 14 October 2017 at 3:30 PM
Same. I unsubscribed from everything several days ago, including gallery notifications, but I'm still getting them.
tparo posted Wed, 18 October 2017 at 4:22 PM
Still getting emails and there's been no reply here, so I'm presuming that either Renderosity don't care or are incapable of stopping emails so I'm going to have to report this as unsolicited spam hopefully a fine or court order will get your tech department to pull their finger out and fix whatever the problem is.
thaaksma posted Thu, 19 October 2017 at 2:12 PM
@tparo - are you getting our weekly Wednesday newsletters, sale messages AND gallery notifications or one or the other?
tparo posted Thu, 19 October 2017 at 3:27 PM
Why does it take a warning that I am reporting Renderosity for anyone to reply?
DreaminGirl posted Thu, 19 October 2017 at 4:28 PM
I am also getting all the emails still - newsletters, RPublishing, store staff and galleries
thaaksma posted Fri, 20 October 2017 at 8:02 AM
@tparo. I don't typically review these forums. I am, however, the one that stages and manages the newsletter piece. I don't, however, oversee the system generated emails such as site notifications and new gallery uploads, etc. So, did you review the question I posed to you? Since certain newsletters are handled differently that was the reason I was curious.
There's no doubt that there are things that need to be tightened up in terms of user selections on messages. We're working on that.
If you'd like an immediate response or to keep my posted on your mail status, please feel free to write me directly at marketing@renderosity.com.
Amaranth posted Sat, 21 October 2017 at 3:48 AM
I think opting out on the newsletter itself may be the only way to receive no mails any more. Ticking the boxes in your account isn't going to remove you from the mailing list. Usuallly those mailing lists are thirdparty like mailmonkey, virtual response, etc. I know managing databases is a lot of work since I do that as a part of my job. Email addresses get imported in bulk and sometimes it requires removing people manually.
DreaminGirl posted Sat, 21 October 2017 at 6:31 AM
..Except the 'Unsubscribe from marketplace promotions' link in the newsletter takes me to a blank image.. it doesn't even connect back to Rendo or anywhere else in any way
Amaranth posted Sat, 21 October 2017 at 6:46 AM
Yes true, they need to check the links at the bottom of those newsletters, once in a while you get a 404 page

I'm untagged for all correspondence on my account and notification settings but still get dozens of gallery notifications every day. Who can I contact to get this deluge of unwanted mail to stop?

Seems NO is not something marketing understand.
This time there is an option to opt out. Not holding much faith in it working based on the track record so far.
tparo posted Fri, 26 January 2018 at 6:00 AM
Yep they have started again for me too. Today I get an email all about Poser content which I really don't care about; please is there not some way to make sure you stop these unless I choose differently, if you think it helps sell stuff it doesn't for me it works the opposite.

Our programmers have been working diligently on getting a better system in place to manage what you do and do not receive from us in terms of emails. Please CLICK HERE to visit the new email management system. It's here that you can opt-in/opt-out of various messages.
Please keep in mind that this is not the same as receiving notifications from artists you have favorited or vendors that you follow. Those notification settings can be managed HERE

Please let me know.

i received some sort of email about 'everything daz', which is funny since i don't use daz or have even ever had it upon any system of mine. and tho i've made two purchases this month, i maybe only come here p'raps once a month at best as life is so exceptionally busy for me. as far as i'm aware, i opted out on everything long ago...
which, btw, is still my preference...
so please, no more emails. ever.

Honestly Followed your link and I can't get the tiny tiny little check boxes to unclick, then the page crashed on me.

Getting junk mail here too and I have NEVER signed up for news letters or spam of any kind. Got a Daz Studio Production & Inspiration email dated yesterday.
I have NEVER signed up to get news letters from Rendo, do not use DAZ Studio and haven't shopped at DAZ in years. Note: also checked my settings and am NOT set to receive junk mail from Renderosity. You guys getting a little desperate or what? I will close my account altogether if you keep sending email and will also a file a complaint. No email means no email.
thaaksma posted Fri, 02 February 2018 at 3:21 PM
@Giana @tparo @Rance01 - I've looked into each of your accounts and, based on your newsletter settings, you should no longer receive emails from Renderosity. As we work through getting this system operating the way we (and you) want it to, please let me know if you should receive additional messages and I will look into it. For a more immediate response, please feel free to email me at marketing@renderosity.com
Some of you pointed out a recent message you received. I'm not sure when you went in and adjusted your settings so I can't speak to that. Our next email is set to go out around noon tomorrow (Saturday, February 3rd). If you don't receive that, we should be in good shape.
Best, Tim

I have no problem with the newsletters, but in the last three days I have gotten 6 emails about the artcharts, but I’m not in them so I shouldn’t have gotten those ebots and the link in the email doesn’t go to the art charts like it says but to galleryhome I think.
thaaksma posted Mon, 05 February 2018 at 7:58 AM
@Biscuits. The automated messages that are sent is something we're working through with our programming team. I appreciate the note and will pass this along this morning.
