I'm having issues on my animation. It looks like when I play my animation at a certain point (around 30 -34 frames) it lags for a second and then continues on with the rest of the timeline. I'm trying to time something just right but this is making it difficult. What could be the cause of this? Changing from 24 fps to 30 fps on the animation pallet? I changed it back but it seems that the lag is still there. Anybody have a clue about this?

Not sure what it is obviously :D Its difficult to say without seeing the animation. But things you can try:
Changing the FPS from 24 to 30 shouldnt make a difference as far as I know, as its simply just how many frames a sec it uses. If its set to very low like 8 frames per second, the whole animation should look like stop motion, but since you say that its only at a given frame range it seems unlikely to me that it would be the problem. (But might be wrong) but you can easily test this if you render out the sequence and set the frame rate to 24 or 30 when combining them.

- Make sure that skip frames is not turned on.
- Try to render out the animation (Image sequence) and combine it in a software that can do that to be sure that its actually lagging.
- Check that its not a key frame issue, some wrong keys etc.

Hey yes! lol Skip frames is turned off. When i render (playblast version) I dont see the lag. Also when i do change the fps from a different value. the same thing happens but at a different range of frames so i'm guessing a messed up keyframe?
Thanks!

Yeah as you change fps it will "use" more frames during a second so the lag should change. So its most likely a key frame issues I think, But if you dont see the lag in the final animation then it might just be lag during the preview playback or did I misunderstand you?

Yeah i see what you are saying. I believe it is lag during preview which stinks because I was trying to do a full movie in one scene with certain timed movements

My first guess is that the video card simply can't process quickly enough to run the preview in real time. If so, then there isn't anything wrong.
Try setting the display style to a simpler mode.
The spherical buttons high and leftward are simpler/faster display modes; lower and rightward are slower but more accurate. I use the fourth one, hidden line, a lot - it shows mesh penetration for placing feet on floor, etc. Try previewing in hidden line. If it runs in real time, your problem is solved. You can return to textured shaded display mode when you're done checking the motion timing. If not, then you might try ball #2 (outline). If it still lags, then tick the skip frames button; skipping frames will often enable the GPU to keep up with playback speed.
If you find yourself encountering this problem a lot, then you may want to consider buying a more powerful video card.
Poser 12, in feet.
OSes: Win7Prox64, Win7Ultx64
Silo Pro 2.5.6 64bit, Vue Infinite 2014.7, Genetica 4.0 Studio, UV Mapper Pro, UV Layout Pro, PhotoImpact X3, GIF Animator 5

ahh! i see what you mean, this happens rarely (once or twice) i feel like its a user error more than anything because my other full length movie files play perfectly in poser preview

Preview mode can be especially slow when some frames have an animated ambient or animated transparency. Sometimes it applies the change at the wrong frame. This is even worse than a delay!

I'll definitely keep that in mind! Although i've yet to learn animated ambient. i've done transparency.... omg... that might be it... now i'm unsure how to fix it lol
