After finishing the Boss style pedals, I'm adding a few more. Here is a WIP of a classic flanger...

I never got into my electric guitar as much as most folks did ... I only assume this is for that ... I had a cheep Woolsworth hard body with a basic amp ... so these things ingrigue me now. Great modeling Sam, and glad you got Poser up again!!!

Thanks, all.
Boni, this is regarded as the classic, all time greatest Flanger ever. Noisy as frying bacon and has a marked volume drop when engaged but has such a beautiful, ethereal tone. There are mods to compensate for the noise and a simple addition of a line boost switch can get round the volume drop. If only I'd known then...
Anyhow, almost there. Just a few text additions needed to the texture and it's all done. Another few bits and pieces to complete the set and I'll be putting them in the Marketplace. At my current work rate, look out for 'em around 2025.

No comments about the name? I'm proud of that one.

I noticed. Could also be the name of a hippy collective band that would have been on John Peel's record label back in the Sixties.

Ah. Right you are. Professor X, as I recall.
Funny how screen names become elaborated or abbreviated over time. When I picked mine - Sam Therapy - it was the nearest thing I've ever had to a real name. Internally, my given name is most emphatically not my real name. Not that I have anything against it; it's just not me, it's a label with absolutely no content. Internally, I'm still not sure I have a name at all. When considering how the screen name would be as a full, real name, Xavier was somehow a logical choice. Somehow, it's more "me" than Paul Anthony Bellamy, even though I'm proud of my family name and connections, and I do have a genuine attachment to Anthony. Well, it was my father's name and we gave it to our son as his middle name, so I guess I must like it.
Me, though, inside I'm just "Hey, you", or not even that.

I remember the days of the old stomp boxes. They are making a comeback! I used to have a Boss pedal back in the early 90's. It lasted about a year and the foot pedal stopped responding and the buttons were wearing out. Not to mention the tone.... not as good as advertised. I remember reading an article about Randy Rhodes' pedal set up. All stomp boxes and noise gates and a 50 foot cable. He hated digital and wireless systems.
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

Your experience is different from mine. Boss pedals are bomb proof in my experience. I still have my old GE7, which is close to 30 years old and still works well. I sold a couple of others recently, around the same age, still working just fine.
It's arguable that Boss became so popular because, by comparison, other pedals were so badly made. They were the first to use FET switches across the range, first to use a battery compartment that didn't make you open the whole box and first to use a LED status indicator. Much as I liked the sound of some EH units, they were temperamental and, compared to Boss, noisy and flimsy.
My ideal rig would be a combination of digital and analog boxes, with a fully digital switching system. I have close to that with my old GT-5. Can't beat my old Cry Baby for wah, though. The amp sims on the GT-5 aren't up to much, compared to modern versions, but the other stuff is very good. But who needs amp sims when you have a Marshall?

Latest addition to the family of stomps is the good old Wah pedal, for when you just have to strut your funky stuff or dig in and wail.

Here's my penultimate - and coincidentally, next to last ;) - stomp. The final one will be a single control version of this box, then I reckon I have most bases covered. After all that, I'll work up a board and cables for the whole lot.

The final pedal with its counterpart. Anyone with a little computer knowledge will understand why it's called "Phase 5A".
