This is my 3rd time trying to write this post ... ok, here goes. Microsoft gurus out there ... My computer died. I have a new one. I want to load MS Office Pro. 2010 on my new machine. It was on my old one. I recall reading somewhere years ago that MS products were registered for the machine and not the user and thus you have to buy a new copy for each machine. I hope this is still not the case. So ... advice please.

If you have the original install disc with the serial number you might be able to contact Microsoft have them delicense the old machine and install on a new one if MS office came preinstalled on the old PC chances are you will need to buy or subscribe to the new version of Office 360 but that is an annual fee usually it is $99 for up to 5 PCs or buy a new License for Office 2016 being that it is tax time you might search for sales like Staples or Office max where they run specials buy this or that tax software and get a deal on Office

Surprisingly, it loaded seamlessly ... apparently because my MS Windows account backed me up no problem ... who knew?
