Today the Renderosity marketplace (don't know about the rest of the site since it and the new freebies are the only parts I use) has started killing Firefox. If I just try to load one page (what's new, or one product page) it takes ages to load and respond and that page produces a Firefox thread that climbs to well over 1 GB memory. If I try to load several product pages (e.g. clicking on several new products to open in separate tabs) I get multiple Firefox threads, all trying to climb to over 1 GB each, my laptop memory maxes out, and firefox sticks just showing loading tabs without any finishing, without returning control, becomes completely unresponsive and jamming up the laptop unless and until in odd moments of pointer response I manage to kill Firefox.
Chrome (which I'm having to use now to write this) does work without the huge memory per tab, and the pages do finish loading, although even in Chrome (which normally is slower than firefox to load and render pages) is much slower loading and finishing rendering the pages than before.
This is ... not good. I reduced my visits, browsing and purchasing when a site update (two ago? can't remember) came up with this terrible design where only one line of items fits on the screen at a time in the marketplace, requiring much more scrolling than on any other site and than used to be the case with designs that showed 3 lines of products per screen on Rendo before. I'm disabled, using the computer hurts, and requiring me to spend longer, making more motions to browse the marketplace because of the huge size of the promos on e.g. the New products page has simply meant seeing less items and so buying less as I am not going to spend more time and incur more pain with all the extra scrolling. If you don't fix this so that Firefox works properly again it will mean I simply won't visit the marketplace or buy anything at all. I am only prepared to use Chrome to write this; I do not browse - or buy - with it.
Ironically I had come here to buy 4 products. As the site is unusable in Firefox tonight I won't be buying anything, and as two of the items are only on sale until the end of today (and it's 1.40am here in the UK) I almost certainly won't be buying them at all (you've got a few days to fix this before the other two items time out). And so I'm now off to buy a couple of things over at DAZ instead. Well done.

Ive noticed the problem you mentioned with Chrome, pages taking forever to load and freezing up for a few seconds upon loading.

I've tried Firefox, Waterfox, Chrome, Opera, and I.E. They are all having the same problem. Drawing upon my vast technical knowledge of computer things, I have arrived at the only possible conclusion:
Pixel primitives have escaped from the galleries and are in open rebellion. Freestuff hyperlink colonists have been attacked and are falling back to a defensive position at the Fortress of Advertising and with reinforcements from the Forum Grammar Police are preparing a counter-assault on the plains of Active Contests. We have also sent for the Reserve forces from Leader Boards to report to Major-General Tech Support for assignments. Our main Marketplace Forces have mobilized and will soon engage the rebel forces. All Members are requested to remain barricaded in your Profiles until this situation is resolved.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Yeah, something broke for sure. They'll get it fixed. And while I'm thinking about it, DavidGB, if you send an email to the marketplace folks and let them know what the four products were you were going to buy on sale but couldn't because of the technical difficulties, I'd bet my bottom dollar they can help you:
store@renderosity.com
I'll send a note to Admin also that you need some assistance.

Same issue here took me 18 minutes just to be able to make a response on this thread. Rendos web sites keeps timing out in both chrome and Firefox. I am also being shown 2298 browser errors reported By the Adobe browser labs web master tools plugin. nto only is it impossible to shop here with a website responding like this But I also have no confidence that this site is safe to put my CC information in when there is so many errors being reported. Just saying Fix your site

Hello, exactly the same problem here, it started about 24 hours ago. Like DavidGB I just can't do anything on the whole Rendero website, trying to check new products, or galleries, will just freeze Firefox, with an error message about ajax script from googleapis (it's not a simple long wait or connection time out, it's literally freezing/locking the browser process itself). I'm using another browser right now, just to come post this.
A screencap just in case it can help :

I get the same yellow strip that shows in Poisinivy's post every time I click on another page. Scrolling the Gallery is a lesson in patience since you have to wait for the chosen image to load then wait again when you go back to the main Gallery. It happens in FreeStuff, Marketplace, galleries, forums, sitemail, even the home page. Someone has flipped a switch that needs to be backed out. Renderosity is the only site that does this. Even the Weather Channel, which loads slower than Christmas, doesn't produce this warning strip. Get the IT guys back from vacation and fix it.

Wolfenshire : Thanks, it seems to working again indeed :) , hopefully ! But it would be interesting to know about what happened, because it was really bad, making the whole site completely impossible to use.
I have a comparable issue on Deviantart in fact, it started a while ago over there, but NOT to the point it was yesterday and today on Rendero, just a browser freeze for 2-5 seconds. Annoying, but you can still get with it.

@Navi
Well, I gave my best technical explanation above. The Pixel Primitives are now once again safely contained, but we must remain vigilant, they are a sneaky bunch.
