Saw this at an xtraart3d sale before, so I guess it's intented, just ask to be sure. Genesis 8 items -60%, pre G8 stuff -35% discount...? Edit: Sorry, checked it again and it's not G8 vs. pre G8, but non-clearance vs. clearance tagged stuff.

Hi,
That's because at this time the clearance items cannot be included in a sale.

Ok, thank you, and to understand clearance right, these clearance items will vanish off the shop after a while ? Just ask because some of the G8 items are also on clearance ?

And "cannot be included in a sale at this time" means you are going to change that in the nearer future ? Cause there are roughly 1/5 sale items vs. 4/5 clearance items, at least at xtraart3d's store. Sorry for the extra post, wasn't possible to edit the otehr one.

We are looking at options to see if we can fix this in the future

This has been a major flaw in the entire clearance system. In theory the lower "regular" clearance price is supposed to make the items in question more attractive, but at 35% off it really doesn't match the discounting level of regular sales. So with 50/60% discounts on regular merchandise becoming increasingly common, the end result of not letting sale discounts and coupons apply to clearance product is to make them MORE likely not to be sold. At least if you're a Prime member the discount ups from 35% off to 55% off, but the vast majority of Renderosity customers are unaware of that, and Prime members only make up a small percentage of the overall pool of buyers. If the real goal is to incentivize the purchase of slow moving products, it would be far more effective to a.) drop the "clearance" marker from clearance items when they're covered by a larger sale or, as that's most likely far too labor intensive, make the clearance discount smaller, but to let regular sales and coupon discounts always stack on top of those prices.

@CybersoxXIII thanks for clarification of this 'clearance' concept. And yes, there were items I would have bought in the past, but when it's like 60% store sale discount vs. 35% clearance discount, I really not feel that tempted to buy a clearance item (Speaking as a non Prime Member).

I'm wondering how the heck that many xtraart3D items ended up in clearance. They make some good stuff. Strangely enough I already have all their recent stuff (at least most of it), I don't have the stuff that went on clearance. Which might explain why it went on clearance. I get so confused... :P

According to info I got in a thread about clearance, the vendor asked to have them put in clearance
