Is Halloween even a "thing" anymore?

It has been more than ten years since any children have come around "trick or treat"-ing where I live. I don't see any costumes for sale in regular stores and it doesn't appear that speciality candy manufactures are stocking stores with merchandise that they will have dump after the fact.

I don't know.... it is here at Renderosity, and my city celebrates and opens up whole area of the neighborhood for families and kids to go to houses and businesses to trick or treat.

Is as important to kids born in the 2000's as it is to kids born in the 80's? No.

This is not for the contest just something fun I did yesterday . I have a much better animation that done for the contest I'll just wait to submit in a few days after other people have started posting theirs. I love this time of year.

I am sure if anyone is going to reply to this considering how many views this threads got. but can someone fix the contest upload, every time I try uploading a 300MB MP4 I keep getting this error notice if we are to upload our content here tis error will need to be fixed. and I have a 200MBPS ISP so its not on my end .

I was just going to point that error out. I got it when I tried to check the video. I hope someone fixes it soon.

Entry #1 in the animation contest (the only entry so far) doesn't play any video. The sound works, but there is absolutely no video. I've tried on three different computers with three different operating systems. I don't even get an error message or anything. Also, there is no description for this entry either as required by the contest rules.

Which browser are you working off of for all that are having issues. The video is playing for me?

We have a party in the lobby of our building for the kids every year for Halloween, with all kinds of goodies and games for them to play. One of our doormen actually does a very nice job of decorating the whole lobby about a week before. Then again, he does a great job of decorating for the end of year holidays too.

I think Halloween is alive in well in some places, and not so much in others. We're in a fairly nice neighborhood, but only two houses still decorate. We don't decorate for any of the holidays anymore. Every holiday was the same, vandalism occurred every time we put up decorations. The last time I decorated, about five years ago, we lost a laser system, and I don't know how they managed to get it, I had that thing anchored down with hurricane anchors and a chain around the porch. But, at least we can still enjoy the holidays here on Rendo.

the video does not play animation its just sound on my end , There is no film description or download link

I am on a 200mbps Spectrum ISP The browsers I used to test play back on

Firefox 64byte version 62.02

Google Chrome

MS edge browser .

Is anyone still approving entries? I submitted mine yesterday and it isn't there yet, nor have I heard there was a problem. It doesn't even look as though anything has been approved for a few days.

I'm going through the pendings this evening and will send site mail if there are any issues.

Edit: all pendings have been processed. I also see there is still an issue with the animation. I have no tools at my level to fix it, I'll have to get Admin to look at it.

Has anyone noticed that under each entry in the 2D category that the member names are being displayed. I was under the impression that entries were meant to be anonymous so that the community votes would be fair. The usernames are not being displayed under the other categories!

I'll look at that right now.

Edit: Okay, I found the problem. When the contest was set up someone forgot to check the anonymous entry checkbox on the 2D contest. I've checked the box, but I see all names anyway because I'm a Mod. I'll need someone not a Mod to take a look and tell me if the fix worked and the entry names are now gone.

Note: Make sure the file is H.264 encoded to upload it as a video.

We are looking into extending the contest. I will let you all know when I have more detailed information.
