Kinda an odd question. Are their any transparency maps for Old Man Rex's beard anywhere on the interwebs? Figured I'd ask here, before blindly googling. I love the shape of the beard, but I want to use it in a more realistic setting, and a transmap would help with that .

I'm don't really know of any, but the beard looks fairly heavily stylised so it may need more then trans maps to help. I always prefer fibre mesh for realism like the one included with Mec4D The Great Wizards.

That would look better, no doubt. But part of the consideration for what I'm doing is movement. And that beard looks pretty static...

You could always have a go at making your own. It's not as hard as you might think if you have a graphics editing program such as GImp or Photoshop. Just find the diffuse jpg in the texture folder. Open it up and create a new layer and paint in white the area's you want to be seen. Create a new black layer behind this and save as a new image. Add the image to the Opacity/transparency channel in DS and your away. If you want to have a go I am happy to offer any help you might need.

Krita paint! Gimp has a well-known Wacom stylus problem. But GIMP can turn any grayscale image into a normal map. That's got to be good for something.

Oh, I have photoshop. I just wanted to know if there was something already existing before I painted my own

Alternatively: https://www.daz3d.com/wise-wizard-beard-for-genesis-8-males

Would it be possible to convert this to work on Genesis (1) and create poser companion files for it?
