Hi, I'm wondering about making conforming clothing, using Poser 11. I've tried making conforming clothing using older versions of Poser, a few years ago, without much success. I'd like to have another go at it. Wondering if there are any recommended tutorials that explain the process. For now the conforming item I'd like to make is a jet pack. I already have the model built, but i'm not sure about something. The jet pack model consists of the jet pack and straps. I'd like the straps to be the conforming part, while the jet pack itself rests on the wearers back. The straps will bend and move with the wearer, and the jet pack itself will not. So, will I need to split the model apart with one being the conforming straps, and the other being the jet pack as a parented prop? Or can I leave it as a single model? I guess what I'm getting at it is that I'd like to do the latter.... but I want the straps to be the only part that bends and twists with the wearer while the jet pack remains parented in place, and rigid. Is this possible?

I don't know if this is helpful but I saw it on DAZ3d. It is supposedly for Poser 9 and 2012. Maybe it will work? https://www.daz3d.com/poser-9-and-poser-2012-creating-conforming-clothing

Look up "rigging in Poser" on YouTube. It may have a few issues, but I believe it can be done.

Hi Arrow, for sure this can be done in both ways. But depending on the size of the jetpack keep in mind that it is moving a bit with the wearer although it's rigid. For example if the pack is reaching from neck down to hips and is rigid then either you need the wearers bodyparts to keep stiff ... not possible to assure this ... or it has to be parented or conformed as ONE part to the breast for example ... that means is the breast is bending left or right the pack is going with breast and the hip-next part is swinging out. So in this scenario be sure that the straps are only fixed with the brest part, otherwise you get in trouble with them cutting into other figure parts. But this is doable without problems. If you will use a parented pack you need a backstrap for picking the pack or in my mind the better way with conforming you need to suppress the pack bending as such influenced by neighbor parts. I would use the pack (rigid) as the breast part inclusive it's front straps in this area and split the rest of straps according to their neighbor parts, e.g. abdomen, hip and might be even thigh (l/r). So the pack and first strap parts go with the figures breast (rigid) and the rest of the straps follow the other figure parts (bending and twisting). For a example of this look into this package from me on sharecg: http://www.sharecg.com/v/42781/gallery/11/Poser/S.H.A.D.O.-Uniforms-for-V4 . These are uniforms from an old tv show and as a new equipement a oxygen rescue helmet (seen on 2. info image on sharecg). This rescue stuff is consisting of the oxygen flask worn on the back of the figue (breast conformed) and this is also rigid and to hold this the strappings (abdomen, hip) are bending with the rest body parts. So this should be the same situation as you are looking for. Maybe even that you could use the cr2 as a donor for your jet pack. Good luck Jo
