I decided I was going to document my progress on making LaFemme into Wonder Woman. Actually, this is going to be 1 of 3 suits I am going to make.
One is already done, and I've posted it. The second one is going to be for a Lynda Carter face and body morph.
And this is the third:
I will be doing some post work on this image and putting it in my gallery.

I can only imagine! One thing I forgot that Poser can do is combine more than one scene. I think it bloats the pz3 but I've always been reckless when it comes to hard drive space. Maybe you could combine the scenes. I don't think anything gets overwritten until a save is initiated.
rokket posted Tue, 25 June 2019 at 11:35 PM
I would end up with two LaFemme figures in the scene. It's better just to try to save the morphs. I got one of them done, and I am working on the second one.

As Rokket said-it can't do micro displacement at render. It CAN do displacement if you use Subdivision on the model. I set the Figure type to Unimesh and set Subdiv to 2. I am still able to use the displacement maps I made earlier. Notice the scales? Displacement. Creature is one I made using Dawn and Zbrush in 2013. I just, out of curiosity, checked both the Cycles and Physical Surface roots, and both have displacement nodes. What that means as far as micro "micro displacement" goes, I have no idea, but as Eric mentions above, as long as you SubD, then you should get the look you want.
Now I'm interested in checking this out.

This is my results. This one is the standard bump maps. No masking or anything else involved. The bump maps were set at .1 and rendered.
This is the result for trying the displacement on the Poser Root node. I used the exact same maps, and same settings as the bump map, but only on the blue part of the costume. There are artifacts and the displacement doesn't look right at all.

That technique can also be used to "project" a Full Body Morph in clothing. Just set the Pokethrough Margin to the value that works best.

These were just an example I picked up. It should have been more specific with the question. Should I model these again and add them to the costume, or does it look better without them?

I went ahead and did the hand wraps, I just did them a little different.

I thought I had the harness done, but I didn't like it, and Poser is crashing on me again. I deleted it, and I am going to try to remodel it a bit later.

OK, in that case, considering the bracers are all the way down to her wrists, I'd say no, the costume doesn't need the hand wraps.

I looked at about a dozen reference images. Early in the movie when she was wearing the 'Golden' costume, she had those wraps on. They go down past her wrist and under the bracers. They also cover the thumb and forefinger like a half glove. I left that out. But I covered her hand and around her thumb almost like a sports wrap. I made them minimal. The harness wrecked my scene, so I am rebuilding it. What a pain in the butt this is. I should get her the way I want her and save that morph instead of fighting it all the time. I'm a dork sometimes.

I saved the morph so I could reuse it. I am still going to model the harness, but I really think she looks good without it.

I wish I could delete that image. I forgot to take out one of the morphs on her legs and her knee guards are poking through. I am rendering the image again...

I'm quite late to the party, but OMG, she's looking great! Lovely hair design and such an awesome outfit. So you did both dynamic and rig? Did you made the hair yourself?

I did both dynamic and rigged. The rigged costume works better because of the nature of it. No, I didn't make that hair. It's a Neftis hair for V4 that works well enough. I will be making hair for her, but it's going to be a long time down the road.

I liked them too, but I had issues making them fit, so I stopped messing with them. I am still trying to get the harness, though. I got a start on it at least.

Vote: Yes, or No?
Years ago I proposed on a comicbook forum that Wonder Woman could wear a pair of cestus instead of re-designing her bracelets. Other fans argued against it. Ugh.

She will fit very nicely in my runtime. Will she be released soon?
rokket posted Wed, 10 July 2019 at 4:44 PM
I have to clean up the cr2 files and get everything packaged up. I haven't run the whole costume through its paces, so I haven't messed with the weight mapping or anything yet.
She will be released, i just won't give a definite date yet.
Plus I am still trying to finish the harness, which is kicking my butt right now, and I am going to remodel the shield and sword to match the movie version of the shield, and the god killer.

Thanks. I will post updates as I get things done. The harness is next on my list, but the shield and sword could come up if I get frustrated with the harness and drop it for awhile.

There is more to the harness than first meets the eye. I managed to find some close up shots of where the harness connects at her hips, and these connectors are on both sides. She connects the lasso of truth to the right side. What is giving me fits is the strapping itself. I am thinking I will take it into Blender and use a spline to create it.

How is creating boots for the SM figures vs DAZ figures vs La Femme?
rokket posted Fri, 12 July 2019 at 8:15 PM
Boot heels are not as high as a high heeled shoe. So any of them I need to pre-pose the foot before modeling. I have only done V4 as far as DAZ is concerned, and you know I have done boots for a lot of Poser figures. LaFemme is pretty much the same as the rest. The rigging is easier because the weight maps are created so nicely.

A random chance for knowledge. On this and other threads, weightmapping and rigging solutions have been discussed. I always thought that weight mapping aided in the proper bending of the joints as well inflating the proper muscle. i.e. Bend the forearm and your bicep inflates. If that's correct, how does that affect rigging heels/shoes?
rokket posted Sat, 13 July 2019 at 4:44 AM
Pretty much the same way. You have to go in and tweak it, especially if you are using a donor rig. If you are rigging from scratch, just paint the maps until the shoe/heel is moving and bending with your character naturally and without too much in the way of bulging or inflating where it's not supposed to.

When I did the suit for Wonder Woman, I had to go in and take out almost all of the weight maps that affected the skirt part of it, because when I did a side to side with the thighs, the front panels were deforming with the movement. I didn't want them to move hardly at all, so I took out the side to side movement. They still bend forward and backward the way they are supposed to. If she bends backward, to say, dodge a bullet a la The Matrix, the panels fall onto her thighs. Same if she bends forward. Adjusting the joint center and painting out the top parts of the weight maps on the panels got them where I wanted them.
