I understand that the update is for 11.1 so I got hold of my serial number and did the form but now I am wondering if I did it wrong. I wrote my normal email NOT the email from here, will that make a difference or should I do it again.
My Poser is up to date both my poser 11 and the Pro upgrade.
I have not gotten an email yet , what is the turn around for that?
hborre posted Thu, 29 August 2019 at 8:19 PM
I don't think your personal email matters as long as they can contact you. I rarely get site emails anyway and the response might get lost that way.
DarkAngel612 posted Thu, 29 August 2019 at 10:03 PM
OK, then I am not worried, I even looked in the junk folder cause some have been going there too...LOL How long does the response take so I know about when to try again. Thanks for the reply.

I am trying to Download Additional Content Files (License required), but each time I enter my serial number I get
Invalid license entry!
I hope this is just a glitch and not an omen of upgrading issues to come.

There is an issue with upgrade licenses, the team just sent out an email. They will post a new build to fix it likely this evening. I will wait for that one to be sure.

I got the first two main files. Used my purchase Key from S-M via RDNA. It worked fine, PP 11.2.224 comes right up, shows my name and the BONDWARE copyright.PP-11.2 Bondware 01.jpg I would apologise for loading a V4 first, but to me, good ol Victoria 4.2 and Poser were a match made in heaven. And Rend won't complain, considering some thousands of $$$ worth of light bills got paid from MY purchases through the years. Naw I think they rather like the ol gal. She got GAME y'all! And its apparently working ok. I don't see that other tab I've seen talk about. Where is it supposed to be?

If your meaning the content search, it's in the library. Click the library, there will be 3 tabs .. Library, Search & Favorites. To Search online, you type in what you want to search for, then click the little magnifying glass in the cloud (Left of the Sort By: .. selector). Then it will search online, if the cloud isn't toggled on (yellow) it will search your local libraries. I can live with it there, as it is totally unobtrusive, when it was a tab I would accidentally keep clicking on it.

Ah! Ok click on the 'i' icon whilst hovering cursor over an item in the Library, opens it right up in your browser. Nifty! And like bwldrd said, it is unobtrusive. Manual select/deselect the cloud shifts between Renderosity Marketplace and my default Runtime drive. It's quick too. Though I never used it before tonight, I can see me getting a dim almost a flash pop going off with a neat idea and see I don't have the model, or textures or whatever. Just Search the store and poof, I got it. So, wow. All these years that's been in there and I never even poked it with a stick!

The early adopter program will be open to Poser users who fit the following criteria: • Had a Poser 11 license prior to June 1, 2019, and can provide their license key. • Can download individual installers from PoserSoftware.com instead of the Smith Micro Download Manager. • Are comfortable that the Fusion products will not be included. • Are willing to download improved versions of the software over time in exchange for early access to the new features and fixes.
For all those who made the special team how did you get around requirement #2 listed to an early adaptor? I have been on several computers and they all show the Smith Micro download manager as what can be downloaded from Posersoftware.com. The fact that some people must be able to get to a different part of the web from the same site does not inspire a lot of trust the upgrade is going to work.

I was sent the link to the downloader when I got the email that I was one of the early adapters. Not sure I understand what you mean, unless I am completely missing something, that point is more life 'willing to' than 'able to' , since a direct link was provided?
Richard60 posted Sun, 08 September 2019 at 11:15 AM
Then they really screwed up the requirements listing as it says "CAN download from Posersoftware.com" I didn't apply because I can't do what they say is a requirement. Maybe they should have gotten rid of REQUIREMENT #2 if it does not apply. When you write instructions on how to do something then they need to be able to done. Not hope that people will some how figure it out when a step does not apply.

folks, if you go back to the files via the same emailed link you will see the files have been updated every day by around 10pm, going by the time stamp. So, I DL and install and see there is a little difference in files sizes too. OK. Install over and it uninstalls old, installs new. Cool. Would be a bit easier on our geeky minds if they DID give us little signposts along the way.
SO, they are busy, well we should be too, right? Lets get our busy on!

Reading the email all the way through. I know, at the end of the game not back at the beginning. Jenn are you using the MAC version? I have never even seen the Help/Deactivate License option. Help, yes, but there is no "Deactivate License" anywhere. Each installer requires the uninstall of the previous version. Every time. And splash screen shows a new version number. Still no option for Deactivating License anywhere. Using PC, Windows version here. Todays version is saying its missing wxPython API on startup every time, then an Info box saying wxCore Module Not Found. OK box each and Poser 11.2 works BUT running any script, even when they work, also give a "ImportError: No module named wx.core", 3 instances at run, 1 more on exit script.

McGrandpa nobody is despising anyone, and I apologise that you feel this way. You do not have to install Slack, there is a web based version. The Slack channel was set up so that YOU can get help with your issues in a timely manner, as it is currently easier for us to see issues arising if they are all in one place rather than having multiple posts in a forum. Plus it prevents a concern, or issue, from being potentially derailed as often happens in forum posts. I was merely suggesting that it may be faster to use the vehicle provided for such issues where it will be seen and answered relatively quickly. There are quite a few users in the channel, and we are all here to help one another. We would love to see you join us. But if doing so isn't anything that interests you, then you may submit your your ticket as you did, and it will get answered.
Here is an example of the benefits of joining us:
The issue you submitted was reported in Slack, and it was resolved in roughly two hours. Once it was taken care of, the users knew there was a new download that was available for them. Information is that quickly updated in the channel and passed along. Not sure how long it took for your ticket to transfer the same information to you singularly.
Again, please keep us apprised of any issues in whatever manner is comfortable for YOU.
Thanks!

It is of course the future here in Japan, being 13 hours plus ahead of the US depending on which time zone you take.
Again, as Poser users are spread across the globe, it would be useful for consumers/users/community to know what time frame is being used when stating a download will be available on the 19th, e.g., such as, GMT. Could this be passed on to the Marketing Department as delicately as possible?
For information, on a Macintosh using Mojave 10.14.6, the bondware beta 11.2 doesn't ask to uninstall any existing Poser Pro 11.
Moreover, it picks up existing license keys of its own accord when being installed.
Curious as to why the Gold Release deems it necessary to do an uninstall as any earlier version used a different license server for verification/authentication — something that was a one off, and the new server being a driver for the current release.
You seem to be implying 11.2 needs to verify every time it opens which would make working off-line impossible.
If, on the other hand, it doesn't have to verify each and every time it is opened, then why would it need to do an un-install of existing software that has been paid for and used successfully for some time?
Preferences and other such items are, moreover, kept in separate system folders so there is no conflict there either.
Sincerely, Paul

I'm not sure about the uninstall issue, but I "suspect" it may be for the Early Adopters and Beta Testers, because they SHOULD have a new, fresh install each time. Once the final version is available for public consumption, I don't think that will be necessary.

Today is the 19th. The S-M Authentication Servers will be shut off today. It is necessary, as the S-M PP 11.1.nnn version will no longer work when that happens. I know I am sounding sort of brutal, sorry about that. But the change of hand in ownership completes with this final transition. It is true we could all keep the installer from uninstalling the old versions. But, those old versions of Poser 11 will no longer work. You can try it and see, of course. The transition will happen today, it has to happen. Today, it is all in BondWare's hands, and out of Smith-Micro's. That is all this is. The change of hands.
THAT said, bugs have been swatted, and a huge content bundle assembled. So, dig in and enjoy. :)

Wow, that sounded harsh and "authoritative". I am not any authority, I AM repeating what I've seen the very busy authoritative types say for over a week now. I know this place, where its too quiet, and we humans tend to dread "The Quiet In The Dark" stuff. Well, AFAIK, the devs, and testers, were all up most if not all the night fixing and retesting. Must be frantic there, about now. Rightly so too.

Hi Again, So downloaded and installed 11.2 on a Macintosh running Mojave 10.14.6 For your information — I am sure there will be variations depending on systems, and of course inevitable problems, however, it seems to work fine at first glance looking at the new La Femme default figure. The installer defaults to the wrong place on a macintosh, choosing the SHARED folder instead of the main drive with the applications folder in it, but this can be changed during the step through of the install window if you don't want to allow other users (may not be any) to use this software. As stated before, it does NOT try to uninstall previous versions so I still have my original 11 Pro and the early adopter 11 Pro Beta. It also picks up the license key from the system folder correctly without any data entry being required. If you leave your old versions in the applications folder with the name Poser or Poser 11 on the folder it may overwrite the contents of this. Circumspection by renaming such folders as Poser 11 SM (for Smith Micro) and Poser 11 Beta for the early adopters may have prevented the overwrite. The Beta I will of course delete. Thanks for all the hard work, Time to have a beer :) Cheers, Paul

Thank you so much for the info @paul_gormley! I'm running 3 Macs here and am currently downloading all the files. Your info will be very helpful when I begin installing everything.

Your welcome LeeMoon, trust it goes well. My big box died last year so currently down to my laptop, a MacBook Air with i7 and 8GB Ram mid 2013. Poser works fine, Zbrush too, DAZ is a fifth of the speed and rendering takes at least 1-2 hours. Even Firefly doesn't take that long, but may do with the new HRDI activated.

@paul_gormley, I've got all the main files downloaded, working on getting the remaining additional content files down now.
I'm running Poser on a 2011 27" iMac, 12 GB RAM/1 TB HDD for my test machine. If that goes well, then I'll do the upgrade on my 2015 Mac Mini and then 12" Retina MacBook (8 GB RAM/512 GB SSD.) I actually use the Mac Mini for most of my Poser rendering these days due to it having more free disk space available. Will be looking forward to getting a new iMac sometime in the future. The Mac Mini handles FireFly and SuperFly rendering well. I always looked down at the Mini until I got one. Now I'm a fan of the little Mac. LOL! I believe I had a MacBook Air i7/8 GB RAM/512 GB SSD of about the same year as you have. I loved that MacBook and traded it in for the 12" Retina MacBook in January 2017. It's been a treat to use that machine and is capable beyond what the specs might suggest. Can't wait to see how Poser Pro 11.2 works on each of my Macs!

The Window-based final update will ask for a complete uninstallation of any previous versions because it will place the core files in the same folders of the original SM install. The only assets that won't be deleted are the ones that are not installed by the Poser installer.
