I'll be direct.
Why do Poser users have to look at those DAZ product advertisements when I deliberately try to filter them out by choosing, "New Poser Products"? Can you feature Poser products instead?
As I instructed a recent member, Select New Poser Products from the Marketplace menu...BUT the first thing you see is THREE DAZ ONLY products, looking like they belong with the Poser Products. I don't hate DAZ or anything about them but when I check (daily) to see what's new for Poser, the first things listed aren't for Poser at all.
I could mitigate this request by explaining the different reasons you do this marketing to the other community members, or list your alternatives to maintain your marketing strategy, but this is just a flat out request from a Poser user to Poser Headquarters. Thanks!

Ha, exactly my sentiments expressed elsewhere, so thank you for bringing this up. Unless random posts of Poser sales show a Poser related news item on the front page, there is nothing indicating that Rendo is the new home of Poser. Plus, what you say about DAZ only sponsored products on the Poser sales page. I work in Sales. I work with Marketing all the time. This is a no no. You turn off a huge userbase who won't click extras or search. If you have a new product, you plaster it all over the place. 'New Home of Poser' banner on title page would be a good start, linking directly to article. Make it permanent.

Very much agreed. Honestly, I'm about ready to block ads at Rosity. If you must show me ads, show me ads for things I might actually be interested in.

Agreed here, too!

It's a math issue. There's more ad space being purchased for DS products than there is for Poser products. If you click on the Gaming content tab you'll still get sponsored ads for DS content, even though most of that content is not for gaming. I just refreshed the Poser content page 3 times. One ad was for LaFemme, another was for a scenery/props set for Poser and DS. So the Poser content sponsored ads do exist, they're just far outnumbered by the DS ads.

Are the merchants actually buying ad space? I'd assumed the "sponsored" ads in the RMP that you have to scroll past were picked by Rosity.

Sure, but Rendo now owns Poser. That is the point. If they want to sell copies of it and content for it, they better let people know where it can be gotten, no?

Sponsored means a vendor paid for that ad space, according to rosity's ad portal page.
https://www.renderosity.com/ads/
That page shows all the different types of ad campaigns that can be purchased.

Those sponsored ads are purchased through the VCR of the vendors. They purchase an ad to run for a particular day and it does. They are shown randomly for the day from the ads that have been purchased. If more poser products had ads purchased for them they would be shown there...AND in the DS products. The ads do not select by type.

Then why not default to an ad for POSER on the POSER marketplace? I'm going to assume Bondware isn't charging itself for ad space and it would be a great place to stick an ad for POSER when you customers request to see POSER products.
jennblake posted Fri, 30 August 2019 at 1:17 PM
That would be re-work of the ads system and we can't do that right now. We are working on other areas...things. But it is on my "wish-list" but not going to be done soon.

Jenn, thank you for chiming in this fast. Understood now on the ads, very interesting, but not unheard of. Going back to the minimum, could there be a banner for new Poser home worked on at least? Really odd that three is nothing saying that on the main page. Or is that also a no-bandwith at the moment issue? (Of course not sure about team size and team capabilities, hence the honest curiosity.) Thank you!

We actually are working on banners/promotion for Poser. I am as excited as anyone! We are "launching" all of that around the same time that our release comes out. We are not trying to not tryingto be NOT visible about it. We're just not raising the flags until we are ready with the release.

Lovely to hear and thanks again for communicating and being patient with our questions. Very hopeful for the future and how positive you especially have remained throughout. Can't wait to see what's in store!

Rhia474 echoes my thoughts exactly. Thanks for letting us know. As you can see a lot of Poserdom feels the same way as I do. Certainly I can wait a bit for this to be addressed. I would say publish the wishlist you are working on but I hate being micromanaged and I would think you would be as well. A simple check-in with some light info calms my soul like split pea soup and ham on a cold winter's day.
Trust is a wonderful thing, yes?

Yes. Which is why we are trying to be very open and communicative in the weekly blog posting. To let everyone know we are still here, still working and things are coming along. I know what everyone is feeling. I am one of the Poser fans. I have been a user and buyer of content for many years. And I have worried for many of those years myself. We are working away behind the scenes..and you should see the results of that work very soon.
