How do I change the pivot-point of a prop or figure?
Situation: I have the item loaded on the stage. The main 'body' is selected. yRotate works as expected.
Problem: But... x and zRotate act as if the pivot-point is 300 yards away, and the slightest tweak swings the item way off into space!
I can't see anything to change in the Properties panel. Nor under the Figure or Object menus.
Using: Windows, Poser 11.2.

Where you call this a body, I'm assuming a figure. Often times, the hip gets moved and that causes the figure to move away from the body. If it's not a person but still a rigged figure it might be called something else. You could try zeroing the x and z translations for the hip and see if it moves back to the body origin. If you really want to move the pivot point use the joint editor and change the center point in the joint editor. But I can't say how this will affect conforming clothing or poses.

Open the Joint Parameter tab from the drop down menu. Select hip. Take a look at the numerical values in the tab, you can try adjusting those. Another way is to go into Setup and visually look at the orientation of the Rig bones, as well as how they connect to other adjacent bones. This can damage your figure setup if you change anything and not know what you are doing !! Advance users only !!

Create a small object., like a ball from the primitives. Parent your object to that - if it s a door, at the side where the hinges are. Make the primitive invisible. Rotate the object by rotating the primitive.
