Is there a way to change the material of multiple objects at the same time?

Select the one object that has the new material, then box select all the other objects, (your first object will be the active and have a darker color), then hit Cntrl+L and select Materials.this should achieve the outcome your looking for

If you're looking for a more sophisticated bulk option, with a scripted panel, "XS - Shader Manager for Poser" is a good option. It works fine in Poser 11.2, without need of a hot-fix.

Which is fine apart from this is for Blender not Poser :)
