While waiting for my day to start. I thought of getting into my CGI, and load up poser for lighting tricks and other. I get a error message "You Grace period for activating this product has expired! This application will now revert to unregistered status until it is activated. Insert your serial number when prompted to activate the application." I am like, What? I press "okay." and now a message "Maximum number of activation's for this license has been exceeded." I do not have the 11.2 update. I go into my account trying to fix activation. I do have the options anymore. I get "error loading license". Why? I only have Poser 11 Pro on my one computer. It is moving the program to a updated more powerful computer that fn screws up these activation's. Thought I fixed this each time, apparently not. Now I have no control. If this is how the frustration of licencing Poser is going to be. Why even bother buying again, or even using. Losing a customer.

Been using Poser 11 Pro with my license no problem for about a year now (same computer), and all of a sudden this morning, a message.

Since you've been using it for a year: have you installed the update yet? https://www.posersoftware.com/downloads

And so many had smooth transitions. Just because someone posts does not mean others didn't have issueless updates.

I have the SmithMicro download manager, and there is no update in list. The reload doesn't even highlight.

SmithMicro no longer owns Poser. That is what is causing your problem. You have to download the update from Renderosity, the new owner.

Wasn't aware of update/changes. Thought it (11.2) was a (optional) purchase. If their is a save as ".blend" file, will be kewl. All the animating I can do in Poser.
randym77 posted Mon, 02 December 2019 at 7:25 AM
No need to purchase! It's a free upgrade. And necessary, because SmithMicro shut down their Poser server, which means Poser won't run unless you update.
Mods, didn't there used to be a stickied thread explaining this? Maybe you should bring it back. Seems like it's still needed.

Ok, this is new. I am more into Blender. But oddly enough I do go into Poser. Now since Smith Micro doesn't have much into Poser. Wonder if I can edit amount of activations to one computer, instead of all 3/3 which is weird, because of reinstalling windows or moving software to newer computer.

Try installing the update. If number of activations is still an issue after that, contact support. They can fix it for you.

It was moved to the Poser 11 forum, apparently:
