Is there a way to turn off the notifications? I really don't want to be so connected to Renderosity. I know they are desperate for money but I don't like this forced on me. I understand the main reason they took over Poser was to hype their stuff and increase sales but this is a bit much.

You can turn off notifications in Poser's Preferences - Misc. tab.
Deselect the Notifications Check box.
I believe that will do it for you.
