more information is needed - what OS ( looks like vista maybe? ) I believe there are some issues with vista ( and also windows 8 ) try deleting your preferences folder and restarting poser ( if you do not know where your preferences folder is here is a script).
If that does not work, remove poser using Geek uninstaller and reinstall it.
if that does not work, try floating your pose window instead of docking it.

It looks like the preview window is docked? Have you tried letting it float? You should be able to resize and reposition it once it's undocked.

I suddenly had the same problem a couple weeks ago. Had to make all my windows floating. None would dock properly.

Good to know there's a workaround if it happens to others. Not entirely ideal, since I hate floating windows with a passion that borders on the pathological... but it's better than nowt.

What happens if you choose Edit > Preferences and go to the Interface Tab and reset it to the default layout? You will need to restart Poser after you do that.
SamTherapy posted Thu, 19 December 2019 at 4:07 PM
Good point. Not - yet - happened to me so I haven't had the opportunity to test it. You can be sure I'll post here if it ever does.

Rather then to make windows floating this might be the fix for it to work again normally ( it is just incredible how many issues appear after the 11.2 update )

If the OP had the same issue as I, the Windows will NOT dock properly.

Sorry - there is a "FR" in the corner of your Windows Taskbar ... wasn't there a problem with French? Sometimes the search here works ... yes: @4369711

It's happened to me also, I close it and reboot. PIA :)

For those who are reporting this issue, can you include the build number of Poser that you are using? Choose Help > About Poser and look at the splash screen for this info.
It will look something like this:
11.0.2.307
Miss B posted Fri, 20 December 2019 at 11:44 AM
That may be the reason I've not come across this . . . yet. I haven't upgraded past 11.2.296, and I believe there were at least 2 more updates after that.

Yeah I'm not seeing it in 11.2.307 either (accidentally added an extra 0 above).
The only thing I do notice is that the "drag docking enabled" option is checked for each window. So it makes it easy to accidentally select a window and undock it.
The first thing we should do is figure out what build the ones who are having the problem are using ... and whether or not the windows go back to the default positions if they choose "Launch to Factory State" in the Preferences > Interface Tab.
movida posted Fri, 20 December 2019 at 2:22 PM
Hi, I'm using 11.2.272 - it doesn't happen all the time but at least twice that I recall
DCArt posted Fri, 20 December 2019 at 2:28 PM
Hmmm .... I haven't noticed that in any builds.
Did you accidentally pick up a window and undock it, and then try to dock it where it was previously? That is what it seems like to me.
If that happens again, you can always do the "Launch to Factory State" option mentioned above. That SHOULD work.
Boni posted Fri, 20 December 2019 at 5:00 PM
For me ... I updated to 11.2.319 ... didn't help. I had Poser launch to factory settings ... still the same thing. I'm tired of all my windows be floating or misplaced. Any other advice?
BTW - I had the same screen the OP had when I started this ordeal.

The previous build had the same problem. That's why I updated ... waited an hour for the update to download. I love my Poser, I just want it to work properly.

See if this makes sense. It seems the "grid" that the windows are suppose to dock to are amiss. Only small fields light up ... and limited docking there ... then there are "bars" that adjust up/down and side/side that effects the size of the couple of docked items I have ... all that happens is one replaces the other and there are "ghost" windows remaining when I add more. It's weird.

You might have to try shutting down individual Windows one by one starting with the library. then open em up and dock them one by one this way you could figure out if it is just one of the features causing the problem or if it is a global issue " this is actually a primary problem to solve for the programmers " so if it would be caused just by one of the windows the issue could be fixed by letting it closed. the way I understand is that the most changes happen on the Library with integrating the Store so there might of happen a code conflict that is causing a mess on docking . also it might be a conflict by keeping the Preference files . when I tested the PP11.2 I noticed some strange behavior on install and startup affecting the Preferences. so it could be that Keeping the Preferences creates a conflict as they might not be compatible due the changes from 11.1 to 11.2 try deleting all Preferences manually to see if it might fix the issue, not just by setting it back to factory state.

Glad you got it working Boni. That would certainly drive me nuts for sure.
What I have seen occasionally, which Deecey mentioned, is that I sometimes accidentally "float" one of the windows, and then it takes a while to get it back where it belongs. Her suggestion to be sure all the windows have the Drag Docking Enabled option unchecked so it never happens again, is a very good suggestion. I'd be sure to do it in all rooms I use on a regular basis.
