my uv map in Poser 11.2 and Poser 11.3 I have never had problems with that. But last thing i did in Poser 11 is a while ago. I test a few clothes for LHomme ( basic tshirt ) that i bought and they do the same...reason why no one seems to build a subd mesh ? I checked a few subdivide options in another software. Catmull Clark - edge would fix that in that software. Any idea ? greetings Karth

I make subD meshes, but I use UV Layout Pro to create UV's - it has a subD option. Poser uses Pixar's OpenSubDiv which is Catmull-Clark subD AFAIK. Can you post some screenshots that show the problem you're getting?

First i notice that after i setup the cloth for LHomme. Was wondering. never noticed such a problem before with Poser subd. I load an older cloth for La Femme today..a suit by Rpub. And when i subd that i notice the same problems now. Maybe there was a change from Poser 11 to Poser 11.2 ? This makes the subd option unusuable

There was a change in the boundary rule between PP2014 and P11 to make subD work better with older meshes - in PP2014 everything was smoothed, in P11 the corners remain sharp (i.e. a vertex with two edges will not smooth). I don't have PP2014 anymore though, so can't test that.

I've duplicated this issue with some other LF clothing and will put in a bug report. @Karth - it would help if you would do the same via the form at support.posersoftware.com as the more they get on this the higher the priority it will receive.

I will say that from a content creation POV subD is usable as I've been making subD meshes for years for Poser. However, as my meshes are designed for subD I always UV map the subD mesh, not the poly cage, so I've not come across this issue.

Screenshot below is of La Femme's Fad sneakers with a procedural checker material and textured wireframe display mode. The distortion is quite clear when the subD level is changed.

I think that OpenSubDiv was updated from v2 in PP2014 to v3 in P11, so might also be relevant. I'll add it to the report.

Many thanks for the explanation Caisson :-) I send a email to Jenn yesterday. So that she can send the information further. Hope they will fix that soon.
