I've been using the Morph Tool in Poser Pro 11 for sometime now and have just recently run in to a problem trying to smooth elbow joints on my characters. When I try and smooth the joint the mesh goes crazy and does the exact opposite of what I want it to do. I'm rather fond of both M4 and V4 and prefer to use them over other figures available. I'm not interested in "you need to upgrade your figures" type replies. I believe I either messed up a setting on my morph tool or it is possibly conflicting with a JCM. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just guessing, looks like conflict with a JCM or deformer. That would be a prime location for such.
Maybe the Apply Pre Transform Morph option could solve your problem. See Pgs 802-804 of the Poser Pro Reference Manual.

Yeah I think you're correct about the JCM conflict. I will check out the Manual. Thanks for the help.

The JCM's on most figures will be Pre-transform morphs. Bad thing happen with the morph brush, especially the smooth on pre trans morphs.
Bend the joint to a Workable position. Save or at least remember this pose. Select any of the morphs on the body parts involved (NOT the BODY of the figure) On the context menu for the morphs choose Convert to Post Transform
Make your edits with morph brush
Be sure the figure is in the same pose as when you started Select one of the morpsh Conver to Pre-Transform.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be dense but I'm really not following you. I really want to understand what the underlying concept is here so I can improve as a Poser artist. I know it's a pain, but would it be possible to have you explain this again? Maybe with pics? :/ When you say "Workable" position, what does that mean?
