I have been trying to overcome this issue for over a week now but nothing I try seems to work, it is not lack of light, because when I add more light it washes out the background. The characters I am trying to render are Genesis 8 male and female both with skins that are supposed to be lighter and both using 3delight textures, but they both render very dark, no matter what I do.
Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
I had a second figure in the scene and she looked fine, until I realized that I had an IRAY texture on her and as soon as I switched her to a 3delight texture, she had the same dark problem as the guy And the picture here is the Quinton texture at DAZ, that is pale as all hell, but he looks like this when rendered in 3delight with the 3delight textures provided... This is irritating the hell out of me because it is stopping me from doing anything because of the frustration.

Oh and no I have not changed any settings, the skin has the issue of the line between arms and shoulders out of the box.

Are the shader settings meant for Iray?

You need to change out other things as well and not only the textures, as in the translucency maps, the spec maps all those also need to be changed as well. everything just go down the list and double check that you changed out all the other maps that are plugged in to that texture. That's if you just plugin that texture to a figure which already had texture on it (mats).

No these are 3delight specific textures.

Thing is, I didn't change just the texture, I loaded the entire character material. and from the start, the male character was a 3delight texture, the only one that got changed was the female that I don't show, and when I changed her I changed the entire material setting. And she is just as dark as he is.

So far that seems to work great. I'll use it some more and see how far I can go with it.
