I haven't used Poser Pro 2014 since I updated Windows 7 to Windows 10. I would like to do a fresh install of Poser Pro 2014, but I have seen posts from 2016, that indicate there might be problems. I apologize if I'm asking a dumb question, but do I just install it, or is there some sort of work-around that I will need to perform? (I'd rather know if there are going to be problems before I start)

I have Windows 10 and like Windows 7 I installed All my Posers versions on the main c drive. When Windows 7 came about they changed the architecture of files and I assumed they did the same with Windows 10...so instead of having issues I did it again and installed on the c drive instead of program files. Have not had any issues.

If you have Poser Pro 2014, you should not have any problems, however, if you own Poser 2014 Game Developer then you will need to upgrade your current Poser version to Poser 11.3. Since the ownership of Poser has turned over to Bondware/Renderosity, the phone-home feature introduced by SmithMicro will no longer validate the Game Dev license.

EXACTLY!! Once I updated from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro, I knew I had to install them outside of Program Files. In fact, I install ALL software outside of Program Files, or at least those that allow me to install where I want. Obviously system type files will go in Program Files no matter what. I have two main directories on my C drive, one for 2D Applications, and one for 3D Applications. I haven't had a problem with that setup in Windows 10 Pro either.

Once you re-install Poser you will need to apply the latest update see link

I did install PP2014 (NOT GameDev) on Windows 10 with no problems, but I am not installing on my C: drive, I am installing on my second internal drive. As long as you DON'T use the program files folder, you can install somewhere on C: too.

There is nothing wrong with installing Poser into the Program Files folder. You just need to install all your content into the shared Poser 11 Content or custom runtime. The only files that need to go into the Program Files folder are the Python Scripts. That is the way I have this set up on my computer and no issues.

I don't have my Python Scripts folder in Program Files, and everything works just fine, probably because it's in the main Poser Runtime, which isn't in Program Files either.
