I'm trying to confirm whether there is a configuration parameter or setting which controls how many threads the QueueManager will use when sending a render to a remote mac render node.
I have a late 2013 iMac which has had a CPU upgrade from an i5 (4 cores and 4 threads) to an i7 (4 cores but 8 threads). Poser 11.3.818 running on that iMac can render with all 8 threads (following the changed Preference setting in Poser), whether in foreground or background, but a render sent to that iMac from another only ever uses 4 threads (50% CPU utilisation) for queued renders. i can see when I look in the queue render xml file that it's been told to use 4 threads, but I can't work out where that number has come from.
Has anyone else experienced mac queue renders only using half the available threads?
