Is anyone using Poser 11.3 and Macintosh OS Catalina? I'm on Mac OS Sierra. Catalina is all 64-bit. So, I want to know if Poser 11 will run on Catalina. When I look at various components in GO64, I'll see info like app is 64-bit except for python-32. Does this mean that all the python scripts won't run? For many things I'll see app is 64-bit except for osx-intel.

I'll include some screen shots. Can anyone help with these messages I see?Poser 11.png Carrara.png app is 64-bit except for osx-intel.png

Poser 12 is supposed to be coming out soon. Will that run on Mac OS Catalina? What features will it have for Macintosh users?

I am on Catalina( 10.15.6 ) running Poser 11.3.818 with no issues. I just upgraded to 818, which appears to be an extremely minor release.

Thank you so much for answering. So, despite the dialog from the Go64 app, is python working? I really like to use the EZskin3 and other EZ plugins. For example, to quickly change a figure's shaders from Firefly useable to Superfly useable, I'll use EZskin. Do these plugins work with Catalina? When I saw the "except for 'python-32'" warning, I thought that meant that all the python scripts would not work. Do the python scripts work for you on Catalina?

Does anyone know what the "except for 'OS X-intel'" warning means? Does it mean that the app won't work on an Intel CPU Mac?

Python scripts are running fine under Catalina. As I recall, 818 had some fixes specific to Catalina. I’ve never seen the except OS-X intel warning. All Macs are Intel.

OK. Thank you very much for this. I see the except os-x intel warning if I scan for apps or executables using Go64, which is here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208436 It was recommended to me in Apple Discussions. Another app that was recommended there is AppCleaner. Both apps are free.

I'm guessing that in Poser 12, python will be 64-bit. Does anyone know?

I'm trying to clean up my HD before upgrading to Catalina, and before Poser 12 becomes available. I'm still using Sierra.

In my Users/~/Library folder, under Application preference files, I see some that seem clearly labeled. (See screen shot.) I do not any longer have Poser 2.0 or 9 on my HD. Is it safe to delete these Preferences? I also have several versions of Poser 10, and several versions of Poser 11, probably as a result of updates to those apps. Is it safe to delete all but one, and, if so, would I keep the ones at the bottom of v. 10 and v. 11?

I'm told it's not safe to delete preference files, and I don't want to make a mess of this, so I would only want to delete files that seem clearly labeled. In upgrading to Catalina, if some files of various sorts remain, especially in the System folder, that are from outdated apps or 32-bit apps, would that cause any problems? I'm guessing that would only take up HD space, and its best not to delete something if I'm not sure that the item could be safely deleted. Is this thinking correct?Screen Shot 2020-09-13 at 12.06.13 PM.png

You can safely chuck out all the 10 point somethings and 11 point somethings; your current preferences in use are the ones witout all the decimals.
