I've attached a screenshot of a runtime folder I installed in Poser 11 library. Only one .mc6 will work out of the whole bunch. I am able to turn my unicorn gold with the Gold Whisper mc6, but can't add a beard, gold tail, etc. Why would only one mc6 work in the folder? Thanks in advance!

Whisper's Fetlocks, Mane, Tail, Horn and Beard are separate figures. Are you selecting them before applying the material? This error message is usually the case when there's a different figure selected so make sure you check your drop down menu to get the correct figure selected before applying the materials or poses.

Kalypso is correct. You must select the appropriate figure or you will get that error messages about missing material zones.

I was so hoping this would work! But to no avail. I chose the tail, and still no material. For something different I chose the mane and tried to add a gold mane. I did not get the error message, and seemed to be adding it, but when done there was no mane added. Baffles me.

Sometimes changes are not immediately visible - can you try rendering and see if there is a difference?

Sorry Kalypso, I should have been more specific. I said there was no mane added, what I should have said is the gold mane doesn't show up under characters. So if I render, there's no gold mane character to show up. When I've added an extra mane, tail, etc to Hivewire horse, it shows up under the character list. (e.g. another tail will show up as tail 1). In Whisper there's nothing, so it won't render.

In your image above I see a mane on Whisper. Select this and apply the Gold mane .mc6, long or short whichever you prefer TO this mane that you have selected. The color change may not be visible so render and see how it looks.
The gold mane will not show up under characters, an .mc6 file is not a character file, it just changes the textures/colors/transparencies of the character you have already selected (the mane). You need to render to see it sometimes.

The material you have circled is the 1e_Gold tail Long mat, that is for the tail of the hivewire horse, The figure you have circled is the unicorn tail. That is the wrong mat for that figure, you need to use the 1f_Gold Uni Tail material for that. Also these are material collection files (Mc6) they do not add figures, they only change the materials (textures,etc) of the figure you have selected.

Hi bwldrd, just figured it out. But it's silly that they put the horse tail in with a unicorn download if you can't use it. So if I want a unicorn with a fluffy tail, I have to start with hw horse and build from there. Add a horn and parent it. So that's what I'm doing. Now I noticed hw horse has no eyelashes, so I'm working on that. lol!
