I thought I saw on the original news about Poser 12 that it was planned for late October. Now the latest news says late fall. So December?

Good question, as I also thought it was coming out this month.

I haven't seen any latest news yet. I agree that the planned date is supposed to be this month. However, I do recall that P12 was in beta testing through the latest newsletter release.

I hadn't heard anything about a delay (though it wouldn't surprise me).
The original post said it would be released in late October, with a 12.1 release likely in the first quarter of 2021.

Probably need to catch the Black Friday sale or the Christmas sales season. Or even the multi-billion (with a B) selling event called Singles Day on November 11 (11.11).

Don't they usually have that store-wide 50% off sale on Black Friday? Not to mention the other stores that have big sales at that time.
Seems like releasing in late November or December will mean lot of competition for customer dollars.
But better to get it right than fast, IMO.

Many stores will be starting "Black Friday" much earlier this year because of the pandemic. The actual day will be irrelevant.

If they need more time to make P12 running smoothly, fine by me. I want to get P12, but I want to get an usable product without major errors. A rushed release date doesn't help anybody.

Surely "late October" = "late fall". Unless perhaps you live in Florida?

By the calendar, fall starts in late September and ends in late December. I live up north, and would not consider October late fall.
If they're really saying "late fall," I think the deadline has slipped. Which is fine by me. I'd rather they do it right, even if it takes longer.

December 21st 2020 is the last day of fall, So late fall could mean December 21st 2020 or anytime before.

Nope. The calendar is the calendar. From Google:
Autumn 2020 in Northern Hemisphere began on Tuesday, September 22 and ends on Monday, December 21
ghostship2 posted Wed, 14 October 2020 at 3:46 PM
First day of winter is the winter solstice somewhere around the 20th of December every year.

Must be an american calendar. We obviously live on different planets
qaz posted Thu, 15 October 2020 at 4:42 AM
There is a difference between Meteorological fall and Astronomical fall. Meteorological fall is September, October and November. December is winter. Interestingly, by the first week in December the sun sets later.
randym77 posted Thu, 15 October 2020 at 6:53 AM
It's not an American calendar. It's astronomy. The equinox, and the solstice, determine when the seasons start.
Even with by the meteorological calendar...October is not late fall, and December is not midwinter.

The official calendar seasons are around the 21st of March, June, September, and December, give or take a day for the lunar cycle. The unofficial seasons in the US at least start are early March, Memorial Day (Last Monday in May) Labor Day (first Monday in September), and Just after Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November), The weather varies from location to location. Northern US will still have snow while the south has flowers blooming. And Illinois does whatever it wants. We've had snow in Mid May and mid 60s (around 18c) in December.
As for when Poser 12 comes out, that should be when it's ready. Better to wait a little longer and have it work well than to have a buggy mess come out early.
