Hello, has anyone tried out if DAZ Victoria 4.0 works with poser 12?
With kind regards

Thanks for the answer

Even the weight-mapped version works well.

With the help of the "assign" tab in the mat room I happily used the mat settings for La Femme and applied them to V4 simply changing the maps. Assign is a GREAT feature.

Great news. Now all that neeeds to happen is for the Poser 11 scripts to work in 12 ... I own numerous scripts by Netherworks, Shaderworks and Dimension3D I can't really do without.

That sounds great Boni, but it still means you need to manually swap out the maps for each body part, area, what have you. This is exactly what EzSkin did and this is exactly what is broken now.

So I guess I'm not in the same boat as everyone else here with regard to using EZSkin3. The first time I use a character I load up the defaults, strip out all the shaders and run ezskin, load my eye, mouth and nail shaders then save the whole thing as a Mat preset. At this point all I have to do is adjust the gloss in the shaders and I'm good to go.

No, because computer storage space is limited and when you have 100s of skins it adds up. I'm not saying its not a brilliant idea, but when you do things on a whim and sometimes try out half a dozen skins on a character to see what fits that particular scene or the person you had in mind, it just doesn't fit the workflow, even if you had the storage space.

Nope. my MC6 mat files for V4 take up 600 to 700 KB (kilobytes). Very small files. So I mess with a character texture/shader once to get it looking the way I want it to then save the mat file and it's one click from then on out.

Nice, can you do it the other way as well ? (on LaFemme)

Boni only posted the head render which can turn out pretty decent, however, I played around with the Assignment feature and found that it doesn't play well with body parts that are not named similarly. That will take a bit of experimenting to determine if it is a viable way to do texture swapping. It might work well between similar models but a complete disaster between vastly different meshes.
Boni posted Wed, 04 November 2020 at 1:07 PM
Well, my idea is to make several "master" shaders this way for base figures I use and then I merely have to swap out maps, which isn't as easy as with EZskin but better than if this feature didn't exist. Keep in mind gang, Snarly is working on a new EZskin ... as well as several other EZ's. As for the other scripts, that is a loss ... but I use PP11 and P12 side by side and can switch back and forth as needed (I happen to like the faceroom).
PS - Ghostship2, I will definitely keep note of your workflow!! I will use it in PP11 and the new ones when they are ready in P12.

A PSS to Ghostship2 - I do the same thing, but didn't know you had mouth and nail scripts!

@Boni They are not scripts, just mat presets that I use for every figure. It cuts down on GPU RAM when you use the same texture maps for multiple figures. mouth textures aren't going to vary much so why not just re-use the same mats.
