Subject: What is Going On??????????????????

EVERY time I click an email link from Renderosity - for things like commenting on someone's artwork, I have to log in. In my profile, my avatar image and profile image are both gone. It also says I have 0 followers, which is NOT the case. What is going on here??

Is anyone else having problems like this??

Yes. It makes me log in even when I choose the remember me feature and things are constantly reset. Was there a forum or site update applied maybe?

I just sent a sitemail to one of the mods.. Hopefully they can get this fixed. I was starting to wonder if I'd been hacked, but it's consistent over all 3 major browsers, and several computers, so it's definitely something on Rendo's end.

I'm not an admin, and I'm not a programmer, but I can say, be patient. They are working on it. It's just may take some time.

(I think someone dropped a box of punch cards and they have to get them back in order 😉)

@redphantom Oh wow... punch cards. I was the Publications Officer way back in 84 and had to use those. First you had to fill out a form with the data you needed on a piece of paper (there could be hundreds of pieces of paper, and they had to be in order) Then you'd stand at this machine that made the punch cards (and those had to be in order). It could take hours and hours to punch out all the cards. Then you had to put them into a computer the size of a small house. If even one card was out of order, it wouldn't work and you had to find which card was out of order. I made a mistake once and instead of getting a pallet of books, I got a phone call asking where I wanted my attack helicopter delivered.

Hi been reading everyone's posts the problems I've been having is - zeros on likes, views etc, individual gallery images / numbers seem frozen since monday morning,
site mail will not recieve or send, can't post product reviews. site notifications will not work.
So haven't uploaded any new work or made purchases etc. The only think i noticed is I'm not getting logged out and have to re-log in like others seem to be having. just have to wait and let the site staff work their magic and be patient. Thanks to staff know you all are working hard to resolve this. Hope this helps. Stay well everyone !

Just looked in the Poser forum. Where my avatar usually sits at the top was the request to log in, so I clicked it, got taken to the home page as logged in, no name or password prompt. Weird AF.

Some of the powers that be posted on FB that they are upgrading Renderosity's backend. (LOL, just realized how that might sound to non-webmasters!) Also, the admins too are having login issues which I find kinda funny. That said, just have patience and know that very soon Renderosity site software will be upgraded and better than ever. The site itself won't have any visible frontend changes (not that I know of anyway) but backend upgrades are usually all about speed and reliability so this is most likely a good thing. (That's conjecture on my part, I am not an admin FYI.) I haven't seen anything about an ETA on when the upgrades will be complete but hopefully they will see this thread and give you all a satisfying answer. 😄

I'm used to having me messages appear as I type them, not some arbitrary format imposed on 'em after I posted. It fair gets me dander up, does that.

God, I hope not, Lizzie! ? That "Revolution" or whatever they did a few years ago almost drove me away.. Hope they get all the squeaky little issues worked out soon. That kind of thing does take time..

Hi all just an update about the site issues. My site notifications started working and site mail finally working since monday.Just uploaded some images to gallery since this started an think the indivual counters per image think are working but the over all follow views likes counter still at zero. I did have one question if anyone knows (excuse my lack of knowledge regarding the inner workings) will the overall counter numbers be resorted /upgraded once the maintaince is complete or will they restart at zero? Thanks to Staff and Admins for their work !! be well and safe everyone.

The issue of having to relog every single time the site is refreshed and logging kicking you to the main page still persists. Confirmed this morning on Android phone and on PC , Chrome browser on both.

Almost a week already and they haven't fixed this yet! At least send out an email broadcast that the site is having problems with an explanation and apology. Why not give everyone a $5 coupon for the inconvenience. Barnes & Nobel did due to their data breach. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Most likely much of the work is being done remotely due to the COVID mess (just conjecture on my part). Still.... How long would it take to type a few lines saying "Hey folks, we're working on X, Y, and Z, and making progress" ? Give us some good news, OK? ?

You know, that is what 99 percent of my issues are here. The lack if ' hey, we are working in this, sorry'. I can be pretty forgiving when it comes to stuff like this if there is commo. It is really bad for the reputation of a company when there is bad customer communication.

As of one minute ago, the weird not being logged in bug is still happening. This isn't a gripe really (oh yes it is :D ) it's just to let you know it's still happening.

I have a different weirdness. I do get randomly logged out, but I have a set of pages I open at once. One is my wishlist, and when I open the group, it now gets rerouted to the homepage. When I reload individually from my shortcuts, then it works. Didn't used to be that way! I'm on Firefox, if that helps.

When making a comment on someone's art, and click on the "add comment" link nothing happens. It just sits there. The little spinning icon shows up and animates, but the page never refreshes. I have to close the page down, and click the link in my email again to finally see if the comment is there. Super annoying. Hope it's being worked on. An update would be nice, if possible. Thanks.

Mobile version still borked, for what it's worth. Refreshing page takes you to main page and you need to log in again. Most of the other things work now.

At this point, I am really not holding out hope that this will be fixed any time soon. Whatever.

I think one of the many problems they had and I see it's been taken care of was that one user would create multiple sessions, sometimes even ghost sessions and server not being able to keep track of which is active and which is ghosting. It's not an easy task trying to fix this. I noticed when I press the Like or Favorite buttons, it registers right away... I don't have to refresh the page to see if it's there or not.

Yeah, I've noticed that seems to be faster now, as well as the refresh after adding a comment - which is great. Hopefully next they'll get to the login issue. I still have to either keep a browser open to Rendo in the background, or re-log in every time I click a link in the email notifications..

Yes, one browser window open to keep the cookie alive... It's more secure this way, kinda like the way it is with Paypal or your bank... you don't want to be logged into any of those if your not conducting a transaction.

At least they don't have that "I'm not a robot" every time you log in LOL!

TEN days after this issue was reported regarding a very active forum community's community page by several members, and after being assured its worked on, it's still going on and literally no official acknowledgement in the open was made. Come on, Admins. Seriously.. Just over 2 weeks, and no change, and no responses to us? We're trying to be patient. But keeping us out of the loop like this... Is that really the right way to treat the folks that help support the site with purchases? Can you take a couple minutes to at least let us know you care?

Right now I have no incentive to buy anything anyway, given how every single material is borked in Poser 12. But hey, it's just a few people complaining? Leaves a bad taste in my mouth, though.

To those in control of the site:

Look.... We're not asking for a detailed technical breakdown. All we are asking for is a brief 411 on what is being done, or any progress made. Are things going to improve, or are we just stuck with the status quo? Someone said "Be patient" back when this situation started over 2 weeks ago. We are trying to be patient, and there is no intent to increase anyone's stress level. All we are asking is to be kept in the loop and not made to feel like no one really cares. Can you do that for us? Thanks.

The site has been logging me out for a couple of weeks now. Friday morning, when I tried to log in, I got a message that said my account had been removed...even as I contined to get wishlist notifications about sale items. It took three emails, but they finally responded and got my account working again.

There's definitely something screwy with the site now, and the lack of communication about all of this is not encouraging.

Usual daily check-in. As of November 23, exactly two weeks after it was first reported on November 9th, this function is STILL not fixed.

Do I say it? This is beyond ridiculous, especially since there is no update, or even 'hey guys,. sorry, we're working on it' publicly acknowledged by anyone.

The first punch cards I used were ones with pre-cut slots which had to be pushed out with a toothpick. Then i came across a gadget that would punch cards for me; and finally found a machine that would punch the card as I typed (it belonged to the UK rocket site - Blue Streak I think it was). Then we had the phone and modem box ... and tape. That was back in the the days of Fortran 4 and then BASIC.

I have not gotten an ebots for a few days on any gallery uploads either. Interesting how admins are having issues and were not aware of the "back end" upgrade. Another example of the front not knowing what the back is doing! ;)

It's still broken. I open 4 pages in 4 tabs to see what's going on. Wishlist still reroutes to homepage. At least it logs me in. When I use my Wishlist bookmark a second time, then it works. The other 3 open to the right pages, but I'm not logged in. When I manually refresh the pages, then they show I'm logged in. Some upgrade! D:

I have never got kicked off, logged out, not once... using the PC desktop version. If your browser uses a VPN and your IP is dynamic, it might say you're not logged in at all when you return with a new IP... but when you click to log in, the website reads your login info from the cookie stored by your browser. The mobile version I don't do because it really messes with my vision trying to read the tiny text of the phone screen... maybe I need glasses lol

... but DO report any bugs you find... make a new thread for each bug and include a few basic details about your configuration.

Just one more thing... (I miss that guy lol)... it really helps if you update your bookmarks, load the bookmarked page... remove it and add it back. Using an old bookmark as an entry point could be one of the many reasons why you have to log in again.

I don't use a VPN and I don't have a dynamic IP address. I'm on Windows PC, using Pale Moon, Chrome, or Firefox. Same problem on my work and home PCs. Happens even with brand new bookmarks (like the one I set for the new Poser 12 forum).

I get logged out in the middle of shopping. The only reason I notice is that I see a product I know I bought, and the little shopping cart icon isn't grayed out.

This wasn't a problem until recently. You'd stay logged in basically forever. I can see them wanting to shorten that, but this is ridiculous.

I am not in the EU. I am in the US. This is going on here as well regardless of browser or even whether it's OPC or mobile phone. Unless and until the team here tells us that's what it is, I don't quite understand why to blame us for what is going on on this site since November 9th.

Look, I'd understand if there was, anywhere, at any point, something that tells us 'hey guys, sorry, this is what's going on, we'll fix it'. There was one single post as a reply to another thread, nothing on this one or a separate sticky about it, which would be sort of a good solution and I think everyone who complained here would understand. It was also said on another thread on this forum that this would be fixed by the 25th. Or by this weekend. Or...?

This soit of thing really takes down reputations of companies, you know?

I'm in US too but the website is required to post that cookie warning with they want to do any kind of business in EU, even if they are based in US.

They're not done updating their website, they've taken it apart to diagnose and fix a lot of issues... I know one of the admins and her IT support was trying to get everything done in one day, the first day which is impossible.

The reason they took down the Followers - All time views - All time likes is because those counters being displayed everytime a page is being displayed was eating up speed... a lot of speed... so much it would hiccup and spit out zeros sometimes because it couldn't keep up with them.

Well, just to add my name to the hat.

I'm not getting ANY emails from Renderosity. Not even the promotionial/wishlist items have gone on sale.

It's still logging me out, even if I leave it open.

If I go to an artists activity feed, it shows NOTHING. I can still go to the gallery and look there. I can still check my own activity feed for uploads from artists. This is a rather slow way to do it, but... better than nothing I suppose.

I came over here to see if there'd been any work from the folks running the website. I'm wondering if somebody's been asleep at the wheel, only its been almost a month now. Hmm. I'm not terribly upset or anything. I just got into this daily habit of viewing/posting on art, and now that daily routine is taking up a lot more of the day.

This has been an ongoing problem for the last several weeks with no technical updates and notifications, and no resolution date insight. Even their 24 Days of Christmas download page is broken. It's frustrating that no reliable acknowledgment has been broadcast to keep members informed.

Yeah, you have a few good points there and it hits home to me because I'm working on a batch of stuff to sell, plus a number of freebies, but if nobody's going to be buying or downloading, I have to wonder is it worth the effort.

In the grand scheme of things, I know it's a trivial matter - and I have enough to deal with in RL - but it's yet another annoyance I could really do without.

@RodS We've reported it to the developers. My personal opinion is that it's caused by hitting the "A" key too hard. And that's probably why I'm not a programmer. All I can really report is that all the issues you're finding are being passed to the developers, and they are working on them.

I want to help, too. If I could afford it, I'd fly to Tennessee and do whatever kind of grunt work they needed (I know a bit about computers, but I'm not an I.T. professional - so I guess I should just shut up and let 'em do what they do..). Just a little frustrating, but more so for the folks involved in this, I imagine. Just another annoyance to add to the train wreck formerly known as 2020..

And FYI - On our Profile pages, clicking on the “View the membername gallery press here” - Just takes you to the Profile page, not to your gallery. Tried this on several Profile Pages, and they all did the same thing.

@4404218 You've been here as long as I have and in all that time I have never seen Rendo fully functional, something is always screwed up. I was a gallery and forum Mod for about 3 years a ways back(during the Revolution Rod S is speaking of @4404273)and I quit because of it one of the reasons I quit was the Administrations lack of caring what the members say or Mods in many cases they're gonna do what they do and Fu<k Ya'll. The problem with Rendo lies with Bondware they do the coding, I've seen my share of crappy site software my current main home which is DeviantArt has it own set of problems brought on by a so called "Revolution", 25 years of no problems shot to sh!t by Specter software, not that it doesn't work but wholesale change for changes sake never works when it comes to software. OK I'm just ranting now so I'll quit but believe me when one day things may straighten out and some Admin will come on and say we've been working diligently on all your complaints or NOT.

I've not noticed a substantive change in site behavior except that the gallery counters are back.

If you clear your caches as I do and load the forum with no other links, you will appear to be logged out. If you load your wishlist in one tab and forum in another, wishlist will go to the homepage but you will be logged in. Forum will appear to be logged out, but refreshing the page will log you in. Reloading the wishlist via bookmark) will load your wishlist. YMMV.

If you don't clear your caches, the site appears to behave normally. Weird! Very weird.

Until something actually changes, I think this is the new Rendo normal.

I literally don't see anything changed on the mobile side. The PC version functions at least on the forum side for now, unless you clear your cache.

This is now over a month, since November 9th. To say that a professional site's staff cannot track down and fix something like this in a month is a wee bit ridiculous, even with the development of the Poser 12 software going on. Website stuff should NOT be dealing with software dev, and software devs should NOT have to fix the website.

Seems the LogOn problem has been remedied but Still I havent gotten a Gallery Ebot in like two months which is just wrong, seems TPTB just don't give 2 sh!ts about doing anything about it either including to say anything about it. I left Rendo 16 17 years ago or so for couple years and came back because it was the first place I ever posted, this crap is continuous and ongoing it makes me want to leave again, believe me there won't be another return. I won't be missed I'm a Fractalist this is a Poser/Daz site so we don't count anyway and besides my friends will never know I posted a farewell Fractal because, well no Ebots.
