I'm new to Poser. Not just Poser 12.

I was playing around with the different options and at first moved the main window in pose mode to a separate pop-up window accidentally. I then somehow inadvertently moved it to just a small preview window in the UI. I can't figure out how to get it back to the, now open area gray space, that I'm trying to restore it to. I've right/left click tabs, window space, checked the Windows UI layout, tried to drag the tabs, but I simply can't find a way to fix this. One would think that if you clicked in a blank space as prominent as this, left or right, that it would show a pop-up menu. Please help.

By the way, every single UI area, besides this big blank gray space I'm staring at, has a tiny down arrow icon for more options. Why this one does not have one, I do not know.

Easiest way, in the edit menu, select general preferences, then in the window that pop ups select interface tab and select open to factory radio button. Now restart poser and you will be back at the default setting.

Then I would use the ui dots, normally located near the bottom left. Click on the first (empty dot) which will then fill. Now if you make any changes to the interface you can simply click on this dot to get back to the basic layout. Once you played around and found a layout you like just click on another dot to save it.

That may or may not work...I had the same issue. I am hardly new to Poser and short of reinstalling, I could not get the main window in the pose room to re-dock properly..it would go everywhere but where it was. Even resetting to factory settings did not work. I reinstalled, set up everything how I wanted it again and made sure I unchecked "drag-drop enabled" in every window.

the docking issues are not new. I've had this happen with Poser 11 several times. EDIT MENU >GENERAL PREFERENCES >INTERFACE tab >LAUNCH PREFERENCES>LAUNCH TO FACTORY STATE will get Poser to boot with the factory default settings the next time you launch it.

Thanks all! The Launch to Factory State button did the job!
