I'm not sure why the renders for my attempts at nail polish are coming out so dull and off colored but I thought I'd reach out and ask about how to properly set up something like that in the material room.
Thanks so much Richard

Thank you. My set up though doesn't include the Principled node nor cycles. It's Physical and Poser!

You can switch your root node. Right-click in open space, pick new, look under root for Cycles. It won't be used unless you check the Firefly and/or Superfly checkboxes, but if you do it will replace the other one.
But you can have some materials on your figure use one type of root node and other materials use a different one. It's not a problem.

Sorry, long day here ... here is my screen grab of the settings I currently have and I added in an example of the render, they look like dirty red nails (great for zombie's) instead of blood red nails!

So you could delete your PhysicalSurface, Gloss/Specular Conver, and Specular nodes, and instead add the Cycles and PrincipledBDSF nodes as Ghostship suggested. With your Diffuse plugged into the PrincipledBDSF node. That is an admirably simple setup.
That said, looking at your PhysicalSurface node, if you want a shiny surface while using this setup, the obvious change would be to reduce the Roughness setting. I don't know about the Gloss/Specular Converter to speculate about that part, but lower roughness will generally increase shininess. For even more shininess, you could increase the Metallic setting.

OK.
Interestingly enough when I added color to the Gloss/Spec Converter Specular color box the nails then looked how they should look! I know it's a no no to add color to specular channels but strangely enough it works!

common dude. I just gave you the goods. Here is an example with those cycles nodes:

if you are using Firefly to render then these questions should be directed at the regular Poser forum because nothing has fundamentally changed to Firefly in 2 versions of Poser.

Thanks for the help. I figured it out. By using the Metallic set to .5 it brings all the needed color I need to make this work without changing my entire shader set up! I also followed your advice to set the roughness down by half and the specular up by a point (.5 from .4).
