Ok, you got me interested. I started an abstract thread at Daz 3D and it took off. Maybe we can get people interested here too. I'm rendering a very slow one at the moment but I'll give this a try after it's done. Thanks for posting this. Very cool 'thingy'.

Ohhhhh thick chocolate syrup being poured over ice cream. I can picture it now.

Actually @Burpee I have 3 Bryce abstracts in my Gallery here, though I haven't done any in quite a while. Hmmmm . . .

Miss B, I'll have a look-see. I like abstracts.
Burpee posted Mon, 28 December 2020 at 9:19 AM
Oh my, my render that I started yesterday is STILL going. I let it go overnight and this morning it's at 89%. Argh.
Burpee posted Mon, 28 December 2020 at 2:17 PM
I didn't have any cool thingies like AgentSmith's so I used some objects I made years ago.
Burpee posted Tue, 29 December 2020 at 11:03 PM
Had to try again. This one uses MatCreator's bacteria spore. Premium render was 11 hours and super fine was 12 so I went with regular, 1 hour. The black spots are from not enough max ray depth. I bumped it up to 9 and most of them disappeared. These are not really abstracts, should be called still-life.
Burpee posted Wed, 30 December 2020 at 12:54 PM
Trying one more time. I like this one the best. I wish that I could delete the post with the multiple objects. I really don't like that one.

Thanks Miss B, not as easy as I thought it was going to be. I really want to delete the multiple thingies image. I keep hoping that an admin will drop in and take care of it, lol.

Thanks. No where near as cool as yours but I'm still trying to learn Bryce again.
AgentSmith posted Mon, 04 January 2021 at 6:34 PM
Even after something like 20 years, I'm still learning things about Bryce. Learning should never end.

Spuddy, very cool cage effect. Is that 360 degree? I try to make images with that but everything is so small. Yours looks great.

Thank you for posting that Spuddy, it helps me visualize how you did it. Cheers!

Sorry I realised I didn't comment on the other posts............. AgentSmith ..very nice toffee swirl ..lovely rich and smooth texture Burpee.. you have some nice textures on the objects i also like the twisted perspective of the obelisk reinforced by the material Glad the set up views helped.I find with abstracts its a bit like using Mandelbulb you have to go into the render and search about for interesting effects and views.I often like to use reflective surfaces and zoom into the reflections to get interesting patterns

navigated around a bit more came up with dragons eye
Burpee posted Fri, 29 January 2021 at 9:39 AM

Still going for the imported mesh abstracts here. This is from Horo & David Brinnen's "Fifty Funky Shapes and Fifty Funky Metals". The object is "InterMobTorLoop2" with the "Anteroom_3840" HDRI. Water is a tweaked version of David's mat "Derwent Water".

Hi, folks. Don't mind my lurking in on AS and others playing with shapes and DTE. @ AS, your Leeloo image in handing on the wall in my spare bedroom along with stuff from Phil Drawbridge and Joe Vinton. Keep on Brycing Burpee.
