A month ago I came across a concept image of what a Victorian rocket might look like. I thought this might be an interesting project to develop. Here are some early cartoon renders.

The rocket engine added. The nozzle is fixed - thrust vector control is provided via injectors. This can adjust the pitch and yaw angles (up-down, left-right). Roll is controlled by the smaller nozzles at the top and bottom.

Here's a view of the cabin interior. The pilot seat is modeled on an old-fashioned barber chair and the bench is inspired by a Victorian settee.

Having started from the inspiration image that pictured only a spacecraft, I struggled with consistent landing gear, finally settling on this approach:
I also liked a more finished look so added a skirt that covers the tankage:
Both of these options will be be included in a prop set.

Here's a similar (Superfly this time) render. Everything is now textured although the textures need some refinement:
The spacecraft has rocket flames linked to the engine thrust control.

The Paul Lloyd image that inspired this model pictures a rusty hulk. Just as the model resembles the original image in many but not all details, this MAT calls the image to mind, but differs.
