Hello all. It's been a while since I used DAZ Studio and VWD, and I don't recall if there's a fix for this...
My PC has 64GB of system RAM, and I have 2 GPU's (GTX1080ti w/ 11GB and RTX2070 Super with 6GB). And VWD works wonderfully as always. But occasionally it will crash during a simulation saying it ran out of memory (although it's in French...).
I'm wondering if there's something I can do to prevent this. I believe it defaults to using my RTX card, so maybe using the CPU and system RAM is a better idea?
Thanks !!
By the way, what happened to all the threads in this VWD forum?

Hello ebergerly,
Excuse me I had some problems and I was not able to reply to you.
This is not an issue but a limitation in the program. At the beginning, I used 32 bits because my graphic library was only in 32 bits. Then I optimized some 32 bits functions to accelerate the simulations and I think the result is not bad.
Perhaps because the program seems too complicated to many users, I have no many sales and I cannot work a lot for nothing. For me, the program is not complicated, it is only complex, it just requires to use it with method.
Many clothes and many new hair have so much vertices they are not designed for simulation. Some hair have one million vertices: This is not useful for renders and it is impossible for simulations.
Now I work on hair objects and soon on clothes objects, I am sure that hair with middle vertices number can give very good results for simulations and for renders. They have to be correctly structured. A 300.000 vertices hair actor takes 500MB in the program in my last tests. It is my next project I will finalize very soon.
About the threads that are deleted in the forum, This happens to all the threads without any posts for several weeks (perhaps 2 months, I am not sure). I don't know what happen when all the threads have been deleted, Renderosity deletes the forum?
Thank you for you interest in VWD.
