Hi
I've just filed a ticket: Poser will crash if you try to open a compound node in the Material room, even one you've just created a few seconds ago.

Really. They managed to break this also. It was working fine several builds ago.

I think that it's probably an undesired side-effect as they dived into the nodes management to allow us to replace every occurence of a particluar bitmap, given the fact that, from what i've heard here and there, that SM didn't managed very well the clarity of what was written (to remain polite... ?) Once again, now, it rests on Bondware's shoulders.
My ticket is still opened at the moment.

Keep us posted on that progress. I'll need to run P12 at some time to check that out also.

Update: a few hours after ghostman's action, I received this mail from the support:
I've been able to reproduce this crash. It seems this is a degradation caused by a recent update. I's forwarded this to the developers. Watch for this to be addressed in a service release.
There's a devil in me shouting loud: my 35 years of experience in the development, I have seen that it was a degradation caused by a recent update...
Wow... would you please, unpolite devil, keep your mouth closed, like the ticket... Thanks! ?
Wait and see.

fyi - there's a fix for this issue in dev testing now. We'll get it to beta & public release as soon as possible.

See if you can get the nodes to stop hopping around like mexican jumping beans when you decompress a compound node too. I hate that so much I gave up on trying to create compound nodes.

Hey Earl, try Structure's free Node Tidier script, as it really works well, and has several different options so you can pick the one that suits you best.

I downloaded it again as it says it's version 3-Update, so it probably now works in P12 as well.

Thanks for the confirmation, as I just assumed it did since the name specifically said Update, which the version I use with P11 didn't.

Oh by the way, tim: how can we help the dev team, if, for example, I'm getting this message while rendering?
"SuperFly: OptiX CUDA error CUDA_ERROR_ILLEGAL_ADDRESS in cuStreamSynchronize(cuda_stream[thread_index]), line 690"
I mean: the scene is huge, and full of bought items...

Most of these situations are content related, so if you can get us the most stripped-down scene file that still demonstrates the issue along with steps to reproduce it. That's the usually the most helpful along with the OS & Poser version number.
