EXCELLENT! I wish I had more time to check it all out, but I gotta get meself off to the days' drudgery now.... I don't think I'll have much time during the days--- I'm hoping to build up some "equity", so when Vue 4 comes out, I think I'll just have to stay home for a week or so.... :)

Yer Bloodsong, I noticed in the initial press release that they did mention OpenGL...which will make working with DEM files a lot easier :D. Please keep us posted if you do get any response from e-on. Cheers

I've wondered why so many 3D rendering applications aren't taking advantage of hardware acceleration? With Vue 4 using Open GL I should finally get my money's worth out of my Hercules 64 meg 4X AGP Gforce Ultra :) -SMT

Flat shaded viewports is a dream come true. It's going to make placing objects so much easier. No more fiddling with colored wireframes and umpteen million previews to hope it's right. WTG e-on! :D

Direct loading of COB files from Truespace is another very useful VUE 4 addition...

If you only knew how tuff it's been to get COB files into Vue with their UV mapping intact... I WANT MY VUE 4 NOW! I WANT MY VUE 4 NOW! I WANT MY VUE 4 NOW! I WANT MY VUE 4 NOW! I WANT MY VUE 4 NOW! Steve, if you want to express something, please don't hold back. You can just speak right up! :D
Fox-Mulder posted Wed, 16 May 2001 at 5:16 PM
Well, the REAL proof in the pudding is to see VUE 4 load them with texture maps. Bryce only loads the mesh (like 3DS, etc.) Now- if VUE 4 can truely load a COB File WITH TEXTURES in tact, that's Coooool! (My guess, as well as hope, is that they WILL, as VUE has done it with 3DS and OBJ files...)

Oh, I am just DYING here! I've been chomping at the bit ever since they announced it. They should wait till the day before they release it before announcing anything...LOL! ;) Laurie
