(Via FBX and BVH formats)
I used Genesis Male 8.1 in Poser 12 software.
Genesis 8.1 is natively usable in Daz Studio Pro.
The figure itself transfers across via FBX without any trouble, apart from minor material settings which need manual adjustment (such as the cornea becoming opaque, and all transparency values needing to be set at 1 instead of 0. Note though, all fancy advance shader settings such as bump maps, SSS and Normals are lost in the FBX trasnfer. You need to re-apply them manually but it is a Poser Root Surface regime and simpler than a Cycles regime).
The hair was something else - I had to re-apply the textures manually because only the scalp texture went across in the FBX, and was applied to all parts of the hair !
I used the Poser morph brush to fix some of the coat pokethroughs.
Save the geometries out from Daz Studio as one FBX file. Save the pose out as a BVH file. After importing the FBX into Poser 12, point at the figure and import the BVH file to it.
I did not apply the normals, displacements and bump maps in this Poser 12 render.

For comparison this is a Daz Studio Pro render of the same figure, and I added a crow figure.

Why?

Because Daz studio is too hard to figure out how to make a........oh wait!!!

I do live what you have done, and I have probably missed something, because when I tried (mid-March) the same path to get a G8 in Poser, well, I lost some definition in the geometry:
If I examine carefully her cheeks, I can see that it's not smoothed. The G8 is actually set to "Simple Bones Single Skin - Interoperable". If I switch to Poser Unimesh, cracks appear everywhere.

May I ask what FBX export settings you used from DS? I'm trying to convert some Genesis hair over and for some reason it's not carrying the morphs over to Poser.
Thanks in advance!

Just the default export settings. Seems to work fine. My FBX version is 2014 and the file is binary, not ASCII.

For the sake of completeness, I added the bumps. Because the FBX uses the Poser Root Surface, I did not use the Normal maps in the shader tree.

@Y-Phil
Basically, everything has to be finalised inside Daz Studio Pro prior to export as FBX. The Poser weight system does not work properly with an import FBX rigged figure. Perhaps using a higher definition version of the figure inside of DS prior to exporting may solve the issue.

@robzhena - because it's there ha ha ! ?? I just wanted to see whether the version 8.1 figures would transmigrate between universes ??
