I find most things that use LIE actually load into Carrara correctly set up as layers, the problem is more to do with how it is saved by the PA in DAZ studio, the same as not all materials load from the browser.
Of course stuff that uses geometry shells you need to do manually.

lotsa manual labor.
manually creating head shape morphs for the eyelashes.
a few come with eyelash morph supports. Rynn8 came with an eyelash fit morph

this time set the blended texture to color only
the eyelash thing is getting ridiculous. i'm going into ds again to convert the autofits to support morphs in the eyelashes.
what she really needs is some carrara dynamic hair eyelashes. !!

it doesnt work well with every make up. on some can see where the makeup didnt antialias

I don't bother with the eyelashes in Carrara, if was doing a close up would try dynamic hair

i'm saving the character to carrara. don't want to worry down the line about eyelashes fitting. doh.
bummed the make up layers are hit or miss. the white bits are supposed to be invisible.

there prolly a way to blend away the white ring round her iris.
dunno if can swap a uv map for just the iris.

oh mann no frikkin way
found the makeup problem.
instead of loading the makeup to the blend channel the long way, i was doing right click copy on the make up png from the source 2 channel and pasting it into the blend channel.
only it doesnt just paste in the texture path, it pastes in the other tick settings.
dohhh.
the blend channel is alpha only. where as the source2 is color + alpha
