I now have a red dot to the right of my profile pic at the top of the page. It's where the normal blue 'notifications' dot appears. This one is red and has a "1" in it. What is it? And how do I make it go away?

It would be DEEPLY appreciated if someone in the admin / mod realm would have the courtesy to respond.

It's a red notification dot, you have 1 new notification.  If you click on your icon, the contextual menu will show which category is associated with it.  Do you want it to disappear?  Go into notifications and either read or delete what is there.

I tried clearing out all my notifications, but it made no difference. I'll try this and see what happens. Thanks again!

Yes I also saw the "red" dot the other day, and it was along side the usual "blue" dot, so I assumed they were two separate notifications, but when I went and read the "red" notification, the blue one disappeared as well.  That seemed a little odd to me, but next time I'll look to see what the "category" is for each if I get the two different dots at the same time.
