Been playing with this today, what does everybody think?

I like it. Nice terrain and camera angle. Great critters. Need some green leafy stuff so they can have something to eat. I hope they eat green leafy stuff! hehe!

Well I was thinking of green stuff, but couldn't think what was appropriate. The hardest thing about doing dino piccies is that dinos didn't have grass, so all terrains have to rock or scrubland. Trouble is, what Vue plants would look right? I can't get anything to look right.

Only the two raptors at the back would diet on something non-leafy

Take a look at my "Trees with Personality" stuff here: http://www.varian.net/dreamview/dreamdesign/evd/index.html ...particularly the stretching technique. I think that would make a cool way-way-back-when tree, starting with the Plum tree. Otherwise, I'd be thinking of maybe a variation on the Acacia. The stretched Plum sort of looks something like the Acacia, so that fits what I imagined. Of course, as I'm fond of saying around here, it's your world, so you have the final say on what anything should be like in it. :)

I bet if you started with the Clivia or Tropic plant species, copied and pasted on top of itself, scale and rotate one, then scaled the whole mess way up, it would look pretty good. Maybe even a mix of both of them! Just a thought. Rich

heyas; you might go with some palm-type stuff -- not necessarily vue vegetation, but maybe some free tree models. i dunno, what did tesign use in his dino pic?

Ferns wouldn't look bad, since they had them in dino-days. Ferns and big, big conifers. Kinda of the redwood variety. Laurie

There's some great palm-bush-type plants at 3D Cafe in the free models area. I think they're in DXF. They import quite well. They'd look good in this environment. :) I also like the idea of using the Clivia stacked on top of itself twice or three times. The Clivia always strikes me as sort of alien and prehistoric. Or maybe just plain weird! :D

Hey Jarm...Varian right. Go to 3d cafe and get some vege palm type there, also mix them with the trees from Vue. Doesn't matte if its an orange tree. Just size them down and plant them deep all the way down to the ground till only their canopy shows. Colour texturing is important...just have them "Kaki Green". You be surprise how well they may turn up.
