Is the download of Poser 11 and 12 complete? That is, can I download it to a portable device and install it on a different machine or does it need to install directly from the site?

You can install them from an external drive. However, the computer you install them to needs to occasionally be online for registration purposes.

Being on line is the biggest bug! try being on line in the Indian Mountains, its a no no. So in truth you cannot use this software unless you are connected to the internet.

I am permanently connected to the net, behind two firewalls and protected by two programs. The one and only time I got a virus was on an Ubuntu virtual machine, but none of my Windows have ever been compromised.

You need to be on for the initial registration. After that, it tries with each load up but will continue working for a week if it can't connect. If that's the only thing you do online and then disconnect again, I doubt you'll get a virus. You can try contacting support. There have been cases where they have helped the person extend the time period.

I've had two shots and two boosters and still ended up in the hospital on life support, but thank God I was boosted or it could have been much worse. TM
