Does anyone know of a utility or script that will convert Daz Studio 3+ dsa files into Poser mat files?
I downloaded a Babylon 5 starfury model for poser from Foundation3D many years ago, but the material files for poser are all empty & I want create a scene with a starfury with a particular wingart on it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Alan.

I thought Ken1171_Designs might have a script but no such luck. It sounds like you want to convert textures specifically made for a different model other than the Babylon 5 Starfury. If that is the case, there isn't such a script for props. You will have to texture it yourself.

The textures I want to use were actually created for the model, its just that the mat pose files with any text in are .dsa files - the pz2 files are empty text files.

There should be texture files somewhere within the DS Runtime folder, that is where DS stores and references textures files.

IIRC, .DSA files are a 'script' in plain-text, supplying eg location information.
They're often in a 'Support' folder, hunt nearby for 'Textures' folder.
You may find you must scale the textures for use in Poser. Happily, the Material Room 'Advanced' properties will provide optional U & V scaling...

If you are lucky enough to still be using Poser 11, go to the material room on the simple tab. Select a material you want to change with the eye dropper tool. Click the panel displaying the texture and click browse. That should take you to the folder in your DAZ Studio library where the materials for the model are located. Select a different file and execute. If the textures are from a third party, such as a freebie, look at the download file to see where the textures are stored.
