Trying to install Victoria 4 in Poser. I have a numeric file name ending in .sea but can't figure out how to get it into Poser 11. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you a Mac user? I think .sea files are from Stuffit. Which doesn't seem to be used much any more, though I'm not a Mac user so I'm not sure.

If you bought V4 from DAZ, you should be able re-download the file from your account. Download the zip; it will end in .zip. You might find that easier, at least if you're used to installing stuff into Poser.

You can also use their install manager, though I find it a pain. The install manager files end in .dsx.

I use a PC. The DAZ website gave me 2 options, download the raw .sea file, or use the DAZ installer. I assumed the installer was for their software only. There is no option of a zip file, and when I tried to import the .sea file, it told me it was not a runtime. I guess I'll try their install manager, but I hope it will install into Poser and not just their own software.

I just checked and I'm not seeing any .sea files for the download... it's all zips.

Download the second zip, IM0004783-01_Victoria42Base.zip

Unzip the file.

Extract the contents folder

Remove the Runtime folder from the Contents folder

Merge the V4 Runtime folder with your destination Runtime

Navigate to the installed Libraries folder in the Runtime

 Find the !DAZ folder

Double click the DzCreateExPFiles-V4.bat file. The script will do its thing, this will prep the morph channels for V4 cr2.

Load V4. Apply any additional morph packs.

You'll probably want to fix her shaders first thing...

You must run the bat file every time you add a morph package to the runtime.

As for the DAZ Install Manager, you need to configure the software so that it finds your Poser 11 Runtime folder.  Once properly configured, all your DAZ purchases, in ZIP format, will appear under the download tab.   Select the files associated with Poser, direct DIM to your Poser runtime folder pathway, and press the install button.  The software will install the files in their proper hierarchy order and folders where they belong.

But, as I stated, you need to configure DIM first, otherwise, the files will be installed into a default DAZ Library folder.  The content can still be accessed if that Library is linked to Poser, but that wouldn't be practical, IMHO.

Good point, and correct if memory serves. It's been several years and all the morph packs are already installed in my case... an easy point to miss. Though I had a nagging feeling there was some clean slate detail left unaddressed.

Something is wrong. You may be looking at the wrong product. There should be zip files available.

The DAZ installer will work fine with Poser.  I sometimes have to use it because some of the zip files for older products are corrupt, and they don't bother to fix them because they're old and not many customers use them any more. It's just more difficult to unzip the products where you want them (if you have multiple runtimes, say). I usually install into an empty runtime, then move it where I want it.

Which bat file? I don't see one in the morph zips.

The bat file is included with the base install.

It id not possible to install V4 on 64-bit macOS. There is a 32-bit app which doesn't run  in the folder:

/Users/Shared/Poser 11 Content/Downloads/content/runtime/libraries/!daz/dzcreateexpfiles.app

Generally I discovered that it is a very inconvenient to install DAZ content to Poser.

I don't think this thread is relevant anymore, considering it is over a year old.
