In the 68 layers cube, Alyson and
Gozilla?!.
Render aborted after about 25 minutes. The remaining pixels look a bit like dust that the lizard kicked up.

GiveitUp ( ) posted Fri, 02 June 2023 at 5:59 PM · edited Fri, 02 June 2023 at 5:59 PM

From the Morphing Primitives participate a Square. You take that as a parent!!!!

Then you add a square rotated 90 degrees in the x axis. You set this up with a transparency of 1.1 - 1.2 or 1.3. Then duplicate it and set it "in front" in the z-axis 10 to 20 mouse clicks on the positioning wheel. Don't forget to assign it to the parent. I have no idea if it takes this setting with you when you duplicate it. So, you do that about 60 to 70 times. :)

Then you have the Fog-Cube a'la Jsenwark. You can then scale, rotate, etc. via the parent. By scaling you can influence the density of the cube. and of course by adjusting the transparency of the squares. it should always be above 1.1 the sqares don't need any color or texture, i just included them for illustration. Red for parent, blue for the "kids".

CclbZK4pkbPvqHndI99feU6A31gfN6scep9jMSQW.jpgI can promise that the fog effects are just crazy. The denoiser even makes it look like billowing clouds. !! Look the last Godzilla pic.

GiveitUp ( ) posted Fri, 02 June 2023 at 6:01 PM
For anyone who wants to try this, I express my sympathy for their graphics cards.

GiveitUp ( ) posted Fri, 02 June 2023 at 6:16 PM

Sorry... the transparency falloff is 0.4 - 0.6... important.

For the lighting, I recommend the round cube or another object with the warm led by VinceBagna. Place it best above the scene. Trying out is announced. Normal lighting is difficult to use, it's like in a car when it's foggy, high beam on and you can't see anything anymore...

It's a prop. It scales, it moves...you can move it to the back as you want, and has three density settings to play with.

Here, quick render to show a lion at dawn with Medium settings on Volumetric prop, rendered in about 75 seconds on my old machine: j1EXsR7wVxaJB92VeaRrUBEWwH55SCm2OcN8BqX8.png

You have to adjust the density depending on how big the object is and the effect you want. Note that it's plugged into the VOLUME port, not the surface port.

I made the prop in Blender from a tutorial about making clouds. It was a cone with a bunch of baked in modifiers.

The smoke coming out of the urn should be scaled up as well. Might also want to lower the emission levels for the smoke. That really depends on the lighting. In the example I show I'm only using the background to light the scene
