Is there a way to capture a shadow like this? I thought when I turn the figure invisible, it still renders the shadow, but nooooo... Either for Daz or Poser?

Rather than hiding the figure, uncheck visible in camera but make sure visible in raytracing is still checked. This works with both firefly and superfly.

The figure is also behind the camera, so that's another option; move your camera and/or figure.

Unchecking Visible in Camera works quite well:
