Why is an AI generated image a POSER staff pick?

FlipArt always posts their "art" in the Poser section, and they always get picked for Staff Picks for Poser. I suspect the staff can't tell

Don't think that way.

AI renders always have weird glitches that give them away that wouldn't occur with your own work, and the above image has several.

And comparing yourself to other artists - real or AI - is just self defeating. We all have our own style.

But staff should pay closer attention to the images they pick for these weekly posts.

Comparing myself to other artists is how I improve. Awarding an algorithm that splices images together that are taken from other artists diminishes us all.

I work weeks on an image, sometimes a month because time limits and my own desire to be better. I can't compete with algorithms that can churn out 5 images in 10 minutes and those are uploaded to the art galleries here. No actual artist can.

That's all, sorry to get on my soapbox. Congratulations to all those chosen.

I guess there's a fine line between comparing to and drawing inspiration/techniques from.

AI isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future, but that shouldn't be a reason to give up on creating your own and improving whatever areas you feel inadequate in. Most will still prefer art from an actual person instead of a machine because the person can put emotion and depth in an image that a machine will never comprehend. And you're less likely to give your characters an extra random hand or 4 nipples. I mean unless you're into that sort of thing.

It doesn't appear that there's much moderation in the galleries anymore as there's also 2D illustrations being posted in the Poser gallery that has nothing to do with Poser. If categories aren't enforced then what's the point of having them to begin with?

Personally I don't compare myself to AI and I certainly won't stop creating art, but I probably won't bother uploading it to Rendo galleries. Since the staff repeatedly keeps selecting AI before real poser images, they obviously don't care about the galleries, so why should I?
