Some of you may know I was diagnosed with prostate cancer a while ago. Quite a while, in fact. Anyhow, due to many different things, treatment has been delayed until recently. TBH, I could write a book about it but that's something I can't be bothered with now.
Anyhow, the good news is the treatment is under way and the specialist says it's all focused on getting the thing cured, not simply treated. I'm not suitable for the most simple and effective procedure - removal - so I'm having another one, external beam radiotherapy. That begins with a course of monthly injections to decrease my testosterone, which also shrinks the prostate, making it more amenable to the next stage, which is high intensity X Rays directed at the site.
Apart from the injections, it's totally non invasive, although it does carry some significant side effects, some of which I'm already "enjoying".
Anyhow, the good news is, the treatment is under way and the last round of tests show that nothing has worsened over time, so I should be cancer free by this time next year.

This is good news Sam, and I have my fingers, toes, and whatever other part of me which can be crossed, crossed so your thoughts about this time next year come true.Anyhow, the good news is, the treatment is under way and the last round of tests show that nothing has worsened over time, so I should be cancer free by this time next year.
You are in my thoughts Sam, and know I'll be sending good thoughts your way daily.

It has been a while since you mentioned the prostate issue. Hopefully the treatment will be affective, with as little side effects as possible.

I hate when a doctor says, 'there might be some side effects', but then they're never the good side effects, like growing an extra arm, or superpowers, like being able to stick to the ceiling. I hope the very best for the treatment and that you recover quickly.

That's good, reducing testosterone will help shrink the prostate, but, for any reason, your estrogen levels skyrocket. Well, let's put it this way, you'll be singing soprano by this time next year.
Good luck. I will keep you in my prayers.
