Message: 4 Date: Thu, 17 May 2001 18:19:31 -0000 From: charles@eovia.com Subject: Test Files ? Hello, I am in charge of the developement of Carrara and at this point we are trying to build a database of testfiles. This is very important to make sure that Carrara is as robust as possible. Any type of scene is interesting for us, especially scenes that do not render correctly or crash on Carrara 1.0.1. Complexe animations are welcomed. So if you have Carrara files that you made and that you would like to send us, you can email them to me at : charles@eovia.com if they are less than 1Mb (please use a zip). If you have bigger files, contact me at the same address and I will tell you how you can send them to us. Of course we will only use your files for test purpose only. Thank you for helping us make Carrara a better product. Charles Brissart Director of Engineering Eovia Corp. PS: Please make sure you join all the textures and terrain meshes with your files.

The only thing that I don't feel good about this, is that they should have done this a long time ago. The patch is supposed to be delivered this month! Your are welcom litst.

I've never had carrara crash during in the rendering room. Is this something I have yet to look forward to? Carrara crashes routinely in all of the modelers, after boolean operations, when you change preview window rendering settings, trying to save files, and when entering numeric data, but the rendering engine has seeemed pretty bulletproof to me. Unless its that "render failed" error in the assembly room, that one comes up all the time.

Well, it "could" be that the patch is essentially done and they are now requesting problem files to see if it will handle them now. The times I have C crash is after I render something, save it & then try to close the rendered image file. That will crash the app. If I just leave it alone (without closeing it) then it's OK.

cristianr, you've got to be joking, right!? Are you guys at Eovia drunk or worse? Have you been paying any attention to what been said here at renderosity?
