If I Export>Image to a jpeg file, it creates two jpeg files. Say I tell it to save it as cell.jpg. I end up with cell.jpg and cell_Original.jpg. The "original" one is slightly larger. They look the same to my eye.
1) Why?
2) Is there a way to make Poser not do that?

Usually, poser will create an _Original file when you are using the post effects. The original version is what it was before the effects were added. By bigger, I'm assuming you mean file size, not dimensions. I don't know why the files are different sizes. If you have Poser 13, you can turn off saving the original file under edit>general preferences>render tab.

Hmm. All I see on that tab is this:
I checked the Misc tab too. Is there something I'm missing?

Which version of poser are you using? the current 13.2.581. It may have been added during the latest updates.

Ah. That's probably it. Yep. 13.0.399. I shall have to bite the bullet and install the latest update. Anything in particular that I need to protect? Like custom script buttons?
Btw, I like your tagline. I used it the other day going into the doctor's office. When asked by the nurse how I was doing, I replied that I'd set a record today for the number of days I've been alive. She looked at me sort of funny.

Yeah, save your custom scripts button. If you don't uninstall and keep your existing preferences, I don't think you'll lose anything else. And as far as biting the bullet, I can't say any new issues have cropped up since I installed it.
Thanks. I get some funny looks when I use it places too. But it's something true for all of us. I don't know where I first heard it but it became a goal to keep up when I was going through a time when I didn't want to still be alive.

Good on you for still being here. We had a friend who didn't make it last year. Great sadness all around, including hers.
I updated. No issues, not even script buttons, but the presentation is a bit scary, what with ominously asking if it's okay to uninstall the whole f'king world, and, yeah, by the way, would you like us to preserve this bit or that bit? And is it okay to install over old everything? Etc... Scary... But I did it and it's done and yes, of course, there was now an obvious checkbox for turning off the saving of originals.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. It's so sad
I'm glad you made it through the update. I agree it can be intimidating.
