I put this chair 1 on the stage and put its legs and base under it and by lowering the seat made it appear to sit on legs, but that's all. I cannot move the whole chair in any direction (see screenshot) nor parent seat to legs or vice versa. of what use is such a prop?

are there instructions for how to control this kind of obj?

there are no transform dials to move the chair, can't even recall how I moved it from way behind fingers to in front..?

It looks like this is a figure so you will need to select its Body and there you will find the Translation dials.  Right now you only have the Legs part selected.

As Kalypso said, you'll probably need to select the chair, but also you'll find more parameters if you click on the + button near other

ok I did that, and all I get is the opportunity for some panty tease poses, which may prove useful but don't need that now!

actually, looking at this shot I realize I didn't have Other clicked, so I went back and clicked it.  a blue bar appears but no dials...

Grrr, how do I change the minus sign into a plus? I haven't done it yet because I can't clearly see inside the dark box unless I screenshot it?

There are no additional dials under the Other selection.  That is why there is a minus sign.

But red showed I could click on other and get a plus sign. I’m confused now. What I do??

It's important to note that seeing a plus sign does not always indicate the presence of additional dials. Poser may display a default value even when a dial is not present.

At the moment, it's unclear whether the stool is a figure or a prop. If the stool is a figure, its main components should be conformed rather than parented to one another. To provide better assistance with this issue, please provide detailed information.
